The war in Iran could cause crop yields in India to collapse, triggering famine and death. RAMP UP THE WAR NOW. NUKE TEHRAN. CONCENTRATE ON THE URANIUM ENRICHMENT FACILITY. WE CAN END IT HERE. WE CAN END IT FOR ALL TIME.
Mauro Gilli@Mauro_Gilli

This image from the @FT shows how the war in Iran could have dramatic effects on global food security. Without natural gas, ammonia and urea—key nitrogen fertilizers—cannot be produced. Without them, crop yields collapse.

@gaughen I will shout out Sandpoint, which as a city has been going bluer and bigger as of late. They even have the State's only Amtrak Station (which might be what the state needs to be less red).

Oh Boy: New Alabama DT James Smith speaks on the difference between playing for Ohio State and Alabama. “The intensity is almost like everything is so much faster in the Big Ten. In the SEC, we’re big & kind of slower. Here it’s faster.” 😳😳😳

Iranian leadership: Let's build nuclear centrifuges and enrich uranium. Saudi leadership: Let's build another luxury hotel, but with a clock on top of it, like Big Ben. Iranian leadership: Drones are the weapon of the future. Let's build the cheapest, most effective kind. Saudi leadership: Let's build a random city in the desert, but make it a line and give it a cool name like Neom. Iranian leadership: Ballistic missiles will establish deterrence. Let's become a global leader in hypersonics. Saudi leadership: Let's build the biggest cube-shaped shopping mall in the world.

@NPWhite717 Midwest people are happy because the Big Ten is clearly the dominant conference in the NIL/CFP era. In the south, they realize the SEC has always been fraudulent and that makes them angry.

Midwesterners are nice. Southerners are polite and may or may not be nice. Many of the most polite southerners I know are decidedly not nice.

I do think there is something to be said about the difference in being generally nice and being governed by particular sets of rules and expectations. Southerners are, generally speaking, governed pretty strictly by sets of rules and expectations. Southerners are not all nice.

Hot take: Southern hospitality is a myth. You guys are very sarcastic and oddly unkind in situations where it’s not really warranted.

Mind you all these Saudi Labubu projects like NEOM, Cube Mall, etc. are failed projects. Moreover they don't even benefit people, pure wasteful degeneracy. There's plenty of poverty in places like Jeddah, Southern Saudi, and Eastern Saudi that they don't show you. Iran, through its pursuit of sovereignty, is setting itself up for a Great Leap Forward in real development. Despite sanctions, it has provided for its people through building a medical and pharmaceutical industrial complex, an agri-product industrial complex (fertilizers, tractors, agriculture etc), a sovereign military industrial complex, metro systems in every major city, a consumer goods production complex, and even has some of the luxaries of the GCC - like the world's largest mall "IranMall." If allowed to develop without sanctions, Iran could end up being a Muslim China. Plus, they promote in their art and architecture, a celebration of groundedness. Like architecture often is inspired by traditional Iranian styles like brickwork. Many GCC states, on the other hand, despite having "luxuries," would not last 5 seconds without the West. Plus like you said, its just a soulless mimicry of all the worst attributes of the West. Car-centric societies with phallic glass towers, megahighways, Labubuslop.

as I have been saying for 2 weeks.....and in recent days all of the "experts" are saying, this would be the most suicidal military move... 1. Iran is not going to just allow a convoy of MEUs with a few thousand Marines through the straits to get to the island. We are in a war, they will sink them 2. An airborne assault out of Kuwait, or a fucking airborne parachute drop as the other option is ridiculous 3. The island is 15 miles offshore from the mainland...literally in fucking MORTAR range at least.....drones and missiles and artillery will just pound the tiny "excursion" of troops on a tiny island that has no bunkers, no where to hide 4. Zero logistical support for any troops that actually get there What the fuck are we doing?
GeoInsider@InsiderGeo

NEW: Israeli sources are increasingly pointing to a possible U.S. ground operation against Iran, likely limited and focused on Kharg Island and the Strait of Hormuz. The objective would be clear: hit Iran’s oil lifeline and force Tehran back to the table.

NATO VOWS TO REOPEN HORMUZ NATO chief Mark Rutte said he is “absolutely convinced” the alliance will reopen the Strait of Hormuz. He noted allies are coordinating their response after weeks of planning, stressing the importance of acting together with the U.S. Rutte also called the U.S. operation “crucial,” citing Iran as an “existential threat.”

In two months, we’re moving to Columbus, Ohio. We just bought our first house there. Texas heat and year-round allergies pushed us to move north. After a long process of filtering options and traveling across different states, we decided to choose Ohio. I see a lot of business opportunities there in general, and strong potential to expand my appliance repair business specifically. We plan to launch appliance repair services in 3 metro areas this year. As a bonus, it’s new construction, so I’ll get exposure to many different home service industries from the customer side, and I’m excited about that. It’s my 4th year in the U.S., and my 3rd year running a business that made this possible. A country of opportunities, for sure.

Iran fired IRBMs at Diego Garcia nearly 4,000 km away? First ever time Iran has been known to launch something with this range. Iran was only known to posses missiles with ranges of up to 2,000 km, although, in theory, medium-range ballistic missiles such as the Khorramshahr-4 can have a significantly extended range with a reduced payload weight (normally ~1,500 kg)
