More people should be on statins. They are basically a wonder-drug.
They have very few side effects and almost no serious ones, and they deliver huge reductions in cardiovascular risk and extension in lifespans, for $2 to $10 per month.

Steve Jobs was diagnosed in 2003 with what was basically the only curable form of pancreatic cancer that there is. They were fortunate to catch it early.
But Jobs declined the surgery, insisting instead on alternative medicine.
He eventually realized he was wrong, but too late.
Yet another casualty of eccentrics with big egos thinking that *they* know better than the doctors.
