A school shooting in Kahramanmaraş, Türkiye left 9 students dead and several injured. Our colleague, mathematics teacher Ayla Kara, lost her life while shielding her students during the attack. 😢

@TurgayEvren1 the issue is high fuel costs at this time, as hydro doesn't fully kick in until june & cooling loads suddenly jump up. there's plenty of thermal generation capacity to meet increased demand, but LNG supplies are affected by the war & the govt does not want to raise tariffs.

@wasim75189811 @ShamaJunejo that's what IK was doing, including building dams. that man is a true visionary who thinks only of pakistan and its well-being, not about himself and his family. pakistan will only truly rise once he's allowed to play his democratic role.

@ShamaJunejo I was just watching an Indian Talk show, on one of India's premier New Channels, they were all crying about the greenery in Pakistan. We naturally need to increase the forest cover area in Pakistan as well.

Yes, multiple reports confirm Pakistan failed to pay the Serena Hotel's bills after hosting the US-Iran talks (April 10-12, 2026). The Aga Khan-linked owner stepped in to settle the dues, turning a diplomatic event into an embarrassment for Islamabad. Sources include News18, Times Now, and Firstpost citing local intel.

If Dawn News sources are to be believed, very shocking news is coming out of Pakistan. Pakistan government did not pay a single penny to Serena Hotel for organizing the peace talks between Iran and the US. Now, the hotel owner has written emails to Washington and Tehran, asking for help in clearing the dues. What was meant to be a showcase of diplomatic ambition has instead turned into yet another moment of global embarrassment for Pakistan.

The invisible flight - How Pakistan ensured security of the high profile Iranian delegation! Iranian jets entered Pakistan with transponder off in high security operation executed by Pakistan Airforce • The Iranian delegation’s aircraft took off from Gorgan Airport (near the Caspian Sea) and followed a highly secured route toward Pakistan. • The aircraft’s transponder was deliberately switched off, making it invisible to commercial flight tracking systems and limiting identifiable data even on primary radar. • This meant the jet appeared only as a moving dot, without identity or flight details — a rare high-security aviation protocol. • In a clever move, a Pakistani commercial Airbus A321 flew alongside with its transponder ON, effectively acting as a decoy signal. • Meanwhile, the actual Iranian Airbus A300 continued flying silently, avoiding public tracking systems — a tactic known as “air mobility deception.” • The Pakistani aircraft was tracked globally under the callsign, while the real Iranian jet safely landed at Nur Khan Airbase. • Beyond this, Pakistan Air Force deployed layered aerial security, including: ▪️ AWACS surveillance aircraft ▪️ Fighter jet cover ▪️ Monitoring from the Gulf region through Afghanistan to Islamabad • This represents one of the most complex peacetime air protection operations, highlighting the sensitivity of the ongoing Islamabad talks. • Such multi-layered deception and protection measures are extremely rare, underscoring the high-risk environment surrounding the visit. #islamabadtalks

Pak Dy PM and FM is pointing at the Pak propaganda machine at work, making Pakistan appear a central player in ending the Iran conflict. As if the US and Iran needed its counsel on Iran’s nuclear, missile, regional role, Hormuz Strait, America’s military deployments, Trump’s threat to wipe out Iran’s civilisation etc. The US and Iran have discussed the ins and outs of their differences in great detail. Iran has showed willing to compromise consistent with its rights and national dignity. Trump says he is not satisfied with 90 or 95% concessions by Iran. He wants 100%. Islamabad is just a convenient vanue for security and other reasons and not an active player in resolving the highly complex issues dividing Iran and the US. Pak mediation skills can’t even be deployed for peace with Afghanistan. It has sought Saudi help with the Taliban.

UK parliament today👇 “Pakistan is playing a leading role in efforts to end the United States–Iran conflict by prioritising peace. Today, I asked the Prime Minister how the United Kingdom is supporting the Pakistani government in its effort to secure a lasting and sustainable peace in the Middle East.” —- Rt Hon Mohammed Afzal MP

Ambassador Sibal, setting aside your egregious take on media maturity, asking about India's role in the West Asia crisis has nothing to do with Pakistan; I’m not sure how you conflated the two. I have maintained—across podcasts and broadcasts—that the venue of talks is irrelevant as long as they produce results. As I noted as recently as last night, Indian foreign policy is expansive and purposefully quiet; it works toward solutions without needing to make a song and dance of it.
Kanwal Sibal@KanwalSibal

It is clear from tne US ambassador’s comments to prodding by the journalist that Trump is not thinking of any specific Indian role in talks to end the Iran conflict. We should not appear to be in competition with Pakistan in this regard. This only lowers our esteem in the eyes of others. Our political class and the media should show more maturity. We should be diplomatically active behind the scene and keep pressing all sides to seek a negotiated solution.

Indians had their chance. We were given a choice, we chose Modi again 2019. And again in 2024. Now it's too late. The entire country will pay a very heavy price now, for years, maybe decades, including the proud Hindu bigots and blind BMKJ retards who cheered this Gujju bhadwa on for so long for no good reason.

In the second round of talks in Pakistan, they might send an even bigger, possibly the largest-ever delegation! Donald Trump from the US and Iran's Supreme Leader could personally join the negotiations. If this turns out to be true, it will be a huge setback for India's foreign policy and our entire position in the region. Total diplomatic failure under Modi, how did we allow Pakistan to become such a major player on the global stage? Weak leadership at its worst!

Well, if I may point out, then Pakistan got the United States and Iran to agree to a ceasefire and sit at the same table (not literally, but yeah) for the first time since the 1979 Islamic Revolution. This is not a 'dalal nation ' (a term used by India's MEA) doing a small favor, but it rather reflects a tectonic shift. Prior to this, the only "negotiations" were conducted through proxies, airstrikes, and threats. 🇵🇰 created an off-ramp. Even if the talks have since been called off (with the 🇺🇸 now threatening a naval blockade), the fact that a ceasefire was declared and both sides agreed to talk is a monumental achievement. Everything in diplomacy invites criticism. And who knows criticism better than 🇵🇰? Some say that Islamabad made itself useful to great powers. That misses the point entirely. In an anarchic world, usefulness is a power. A nation that no one needs is a nation that is irrelevant. 𝗪𝗵𝘆 𝗣𝗮𝗸𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗻? Because it identified a catastrophic conflict that was destabilizing its own neighborhood (spillover from US-Iran war into the Gulf and potentially Balochistan) and a diplomatic vacuum that no other power could fill. 🇨🇳 is too close to 🇮🇷 to be trusted by the 🇺🇸. 🇷🇺 is not liked by the West either. European powers lack the leverage with Tehran at this point. Turkey is mired in its own regional rivalries. 𝗗𝗮𝗹𝗮𝗹? 𝗥𝗲𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆? Well, in that sense, a dalal works for one side's benefit at the expense of another. 🇵🇰 worked for its own benefit, ensuring de-escalation on its borders, enhanced its global standing (just go through the number of countries that have acknowledged 🇵🇰's role), and economic relief. 𝘞𝘩𝘺 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘤𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘧𝘳𝘰𝘮 𝘐𝘯𝘥𝘪𝘢? For decades, 🇮🇳 has projected itself as the responsible regional power and a necessary interlocutor with the West on all major issues. Yet, when the most critical war of the decade erupted, it was Pakistan, not India, that Washington and Tehran both called. And for India's External Affairs, it cannot publicly support a Pakistani-led initiative (domestic political constraints), but it also could not afford to be seen as an obstacle to peace. Hence, the resort to name-calling. Calling 🇵🇰 a "dalal" is seen in the language of a country who has been outmaneuvered and has no substantive counter-argument. That's not how mature nations communicate. Dr. Christine Fair @CChristineFair (one of the foremost experts on South Asian security, and Pakistan's security affairs) has gone a step ahead and called it "churlish and jealous." When I say I haven't seen a better usage of geostrategy as done by 🇵🇰, I mean it. It leveraged its geography and its "rogue" relationships (including past ties to the Taliban and its complex nuclear history) into a new form of diplomatic capital. The same traits that made 🇵🇰 a "difficult" partner for the US, its autonomy and its refusal to be a simple client state, are precisely what made it acceptable to Iran. So, when the next crisis erupts (and it will), the 🇺🇸, 🇮🇷, and the world will instinctively look to Islamabad again. 🇵🇰 has built a reputation for that possibility. Islamabad recognised that the greatest power is not the ability to wage war, but the ability to create the conditions for peace @DanQayyum
Hassan Abbas@Watandost

Pakistan deserves credit for showing that measured diplomacy still matters. Islamabad opened space for dialogue where others saw only deadlock. One hopes this fragile opening leads to lasting peace. nytimes.com/2026/04/12/us/…

US military bases had pretended to be assets - Now they’ve been exposed as liabilities 5. Murdering an entire govt was considered a very bad thing - Now it’s fine, the US set a precedent for everyone 6.
