@denisb @CraigGrannell First Western commercial release is what I meant. As you can see from my tweet, had no room to add that detail. Didn’t think I needed to since this info is very common knowledge.

35 years ago, ZZAP! reviewed the C64 version of Tetris. We couldn't believe how such a simple game could be so ludicrously addictive. And I totally called it. One of all-time classics, even now. Despite the Game Boy version getting all the props these days, this one was first!

@CraigGrannell Yeah. It needed some finessing, but for a v01, it was a revelation. Of course, it took Nintendo to knock off the rough edges and turn it into a juggernaut.

@RMCRetro I think it’s launched at an unfortunate price point? Not cheap enough to get a proper player base for the main mode to really work I think. Needs PS+ or GamePass players or a cheaper price!

I've been enjoying Arkanoid Eternal Battle this past week, retro remakes don't always get it right but this one nails it and the 25 player battle royale Arkanoid mode is pure chaos. My only gripe is there aren't enough people online so too many Ai battles. bit.ly/3DZOVrZ
