@OilBeak If people want to go down this route, sure it's foolish but sure. However, that kid can't renter the public system in any year which they accepted the money.

@DonBraid In what world do you imagine real communism would ever be the dominant political policy of Canada? Hilariously out of touch fear mongering.

I know there will be plenty of chatter about how the Oilers didn’t show up last night. They did show up but weren’t prepared for the test, the same one they’ve been taking for three years. That will define the Kris Knoblauch era, I’m afraid. lowetide.ca/2026/03/20/car…

We’ve seen Nurse have lengthy rough stretches before, but I’m really shocked at how poorly Walman has been all season. He was a legitimate difference maker last year, and gave them great depth on the back end. He needs to wake tf up.

@coopsie39 It's almost like the org doesn't really want to win.

With Dach on LTIR now they techcnially could have called up Pick but they went with Jones due to some allure of physicality (which Jones does NOT bring at the AHL level). The org has forgot Jarventie exists and, yes, I think Jarventie would fit in great with Fred and Josh!
Jason Gregor@JasonGregor

For those asking, Oilers can't send Jarry to minors for Pickard. Only players who were on AHL roster before trade deadline are eligible to be sent down to AHL after trade deadline. EDM can recall Pickard, but would have to send a skater down to make room and carry three goalies.

@oilersdailyy Right now it's about a 17 goal difference between Skinner(5.61) and Jarry(-11.73) on their new teams via GSAx. They should have just gone with Ingram Skinner and walk in the summer.

Look, Jarry has been absolutely unplayable, but for people to say we would be "locked into a playoff spot" if we kept Skinner is outrageous. Clearly did not take long for people to forget just how bad Skinner was in Edmonton.

@devonkgardner Yeah, but even the way the East is setting up this year, Tampa and Carolina are the only teams flowing in playoff experience and they aren't likely to see either in the first round. Could go either way, but I'm liking their chances at taking at least a round, then who knows.

Digging a bit into the Sabres season. I think anyone shrugging them off might be surprised. A couple interesting things going into details. Only 2 teams have won more than half of their games played in Regulation. Buffalo and Colorado....

Record against the top 10 teams in the league: Buf 12-8-2 Car 9-6-2 TBay 9-8-2 Det 6-9-3 Mtl 9-6-4 So they've done as well against the best as they have the rest. There biggest obstacle is experience, but Det and Mtl are in the same boat.

@pontaicbandits I'll remember the walk I took after they went down 3-0, till I die. Long walk to grieve the best chance we and they might ever have. What happened next made it far far more emotionally damaging.

@stevezieskidoo @RomulusNotNuma To defend this slightly, classroom management has become nearly impossible with the number of students packed into these classrooms. If a screen is what it takes then sometimes it just has to happen. Not ideal but what other effective options are there?

Not factual. Fourth line all had less TOI. Dickinson and his linemates, Podkolzin and Kapanen ranked 9th, 8th and 7th respectively at 5x5 as most 3rd lines would. Oilers trailed the game for final 48 minutes. In third period when it was 4-3 in the final 8 minutes of game Dickinson had one shift. He isn't an offensive player. Why would coach play him that much late in a game when trailing? There are many things to rip on Knoblauch about. He needs to stop loading up 97/29. It hasn't worked like it has in the past and some others.... Jordan Staal is a great defensive 3C. He played 11:31 at 5x5 and Dickinson played 10:07. Stall had three shifts when game was 4-3 as Hurricanes were holding onto lead. This tweet is rage bait and illustrates a lack of understanding the role of a defensive 3C. If the Oilers are holding a lead late in the third and Dickinson has one shift in the 7 minutes, then 100% coach should be ripped. But last night is not the time to play a defensive centre way more minutes.
The Mug NHL@TheMugNHL

Jason Dickinson, who the Oilers acquired to be a defensive matchup centre, had the second-least amount of ice time for Oilers forwards at 5v5 against the Hurricanes tonight. #LetsGoOilers

@zjlaing Connor and Leon already take on the most minutes against elites for the Oilers, don't expect that to change much. The other team gets to ice their players too. Dickinson will help the PK and keeping the puck out of the net when 97 and 29 are not on the ice.

saw this qt'd via my for you page. yes, low gf% against elites, but he has a 2.2 ga/60 against them, and just 10 goals against and a .906 oisv% in 276 minutes this year.
x - Lotsy@lotsryan

@nielsonTSN1260 Dickinson has also kinda gotten caved in vs Elites (DFF 39.8%, GF 37.5%). Some models love his defensive game, but I'm not sold on him getting much deployment against elite competition here
