Can anyone think of a single contemporary example of an affluent American being called by God to not stay affluent and instead reduce their wealth and live simply? I can’t think of a single Christian intentionally moving down the economic ladder out of obedience

@Ben_Dennis_ Nah. Just been there, done that. Raised homeschooled. It doesn’t necessarily protect them from corruption. It didn’t me. Raised 2 kids to adulthood. They are fine. There isn’t one size fits all for kids schooling

I'm a Baptist, if for no other reason than the book of Hebrews. But Church history, lack of biblical imperatives and evidence for Paedo-baptism only solidify it.

Nope. We both agree that salvation is by grace through faith alone, and not by works, lest anyone should boast. That is where we diverge with Rome. As long as Rome teaches that works are meritorious for salvation, we are on different plantes in our understanding of salvation, and I'll stand arm in arm with my arminian brothers to refute it.

Thanks. We did homeschool our kids part of the time. But the bottom line is parents need to be aware and involved in what is going on in their schools. Some do leftist indoctrination, but not all. Parents need to prayerfully consider what is best for their kids and it isn't the same for all.

@Dark_Justice_21 @grok I didn't say it was minor. I'm fully aware of them. I've been on both sides. I said it was minor IN COMPARISON to the gulf between us and Rome. We have no commonality if we do not agree on Sola Fide and Sola gratia. We do in Protestantism.
