It interests me how they cast Charlie as a brazen liar. He publicly said many things about Israel, Iran, and antisemitism- but they say he was lying the whole time, and he only told the truth (which was apparently the exact opposite) to their specific political cabal.

I frankly don’t believe this happened. How is anyone supposed to verify whether or not it did? There seems to be a pattern of people using a dead man’s alleged (key word: alleged) private words as a wedge to push an anti-Israel, anti–whatever-the-latest-thing-Trump-is-doing agenda. Maybe people should stop invoking Charlie, since he’s gone and has no way to set the record straight? Just a thought. It’s also foolish to pretend we must accept whatever Charlie allegedly said as what we ought to firmly believe or support in terms of our political positions. He’s not royalty. He’s not God. He doesn’t set the standard. He’s not even an elected official. We are absolutely allowed to oppose him as conservatives on whatever issues we want.
