We have published a methods paper describing how to identify cell surface receptor complexes by immunoprecipitation and map their phosphorylation sites. We hope this protocol will be useful to the community. link.springer.com/protocol/10.10…

and thanks for fantastic work from @mhz1989 and many other co-authors; @TheSainsburyLab is a great place to do science!

Coordinately submitting with @Kobe_Lab_ we're proud to report great collaboration with Selvaraj in @KamounLab to reveal basis for recognition of multiple effectors by the same immune receptor, to extend that recognition and to see the preactivation state biorxiv.org/content/10.648…

Very happy to contribute to this satellite meeting on -Building careers in #MPMI through Mentoring. It was great to share thoughts and learn from colleagues. Thanks to the organisers @IamJawaharSingh and others #2025ISMPMI

1/7 One of the most impactful aspects of our #ISMPMI2025 satellite meeting was the direct, informal interactions between early-career researchers and leading scientists in plant–microbe interactions. Here’s a glimpse into these powerful conversations. 👇 #MentorshipMatters

#teaching #rewarding An e-mail that came in today made my day! It's been three years of teaching since I started @LeidenBiology @UniLeiden With the help from my teaching mentor @ClaessenLAB & support from my colleagues @HandeWinde @ChaoDu & many #TAs @HimanshuChhill3, I have learnt and grown so much as a lecturer. I have tried implementing innovative, fun, engaging, and diverse teaching and learning methods in my courses every year. My primary goal is to help the students master learning skills and explore their full potential. I must thank my students, who have always been supportive and provided valuable and constructive criticism to help me improve. I love my job!

How do plants protect themselves from infection? 🌲 🌽 🌱 A new plant cell atlas created by Salk Professor @JoeEcker and team revealed a rare cell state called PRIMER, which acts as a plant defense strategy hub. With the publicly available atlas, scientists are now closer to understanding the plant immune system—an increasingly important task given climate change and the rise of antimicrobial resistance.
