We’re going to get an actual ice age before we get The Winds of Winter
For all Curious@fascinatingonX
BREAKING 🚨: Earth is tilting toward its next ice age in 10,000 years, new research reveals.

@Zarkkill @BlackStork22 You ash&*% Ukrainian men are fighting and dying everyday. But Ukrainian women are rising up and showing they want freedom too.
You just want to create a evil distraction.
English

@BlackStork22 As an American man I am disgusted that Ukrainian men did not step up to prevent women from serving in combat.
Men should be the ones fighting and dying, women should be protected and kept from the front lines.
English

I’m 30. I have been serving as a soldier in the Ukrainian army for 6 years.
During this time, I have lived through three phases of the same war: the forgotten trench war before 2022, the maneuver phase of the full-scale invasion (2022–2024), and the drone war that continues now alongside a war of attrition.
I served as a combat medic in a reconnaissance platoon. Now I am a strike UAV crew commander.
I have also written three poetry books during these years. One of them, Dasein: Defense of Presence, has been translated into English, French, and German.
These photos by Khrystyna Kulakovska are my attempt to remember who I am beyond the war.

The security forces in Iran threw acid on Marziyeh for not covering her hijab “properly”.
And this one? The grandniece of Qasem Soleimani the slain IRGC commander, in a luxury life in America, without hijab.
Yes for us ordinary women in Iran: show our hair, lose our face, beaten by morality police, arrested, blacklisted, and even get killed like Mahsa, Jina Amini.
Outside Iran: be connected to the regime, enjoy your freedom.

@EWErickson You really loose the argument and show little Christian credibility!

Pakistan: Christians in Gujranwala speak out after a suspected Islamist attack against a Christian procession Easter morning.
A man rammed a truck into the large parade, killing several and wounding dozens.
This mirrors what happened to Nigerian Christians in an Easter parade last year.
The Christians of Pakistan need immediate prayer and help.

This is what Christians face in Islamic countries!

Just in: Archbishop of Lahore expressed "strongest protest, deep anguish" over top Pakistani court's decision in the case of Maria. Maria was abducted & converted. The court upheld the custody of the girl with her abductor.

@thescottbarber Are you including Catholicism into the braoder picture? That would even more hyperbolic!
English

@thescottbarber I disagree. As a section of Evangelicalism (not small) sold its soul to Trump, more and more are stepping away. In the broader world, it would be a grand political statement to say 'erode the broader credibility of Christianity itself.' Evangelicalism is taking a local identity!
English

When we talk about the Evangelical capitulation to Trumpism and how it has undermined the credibility of an entire religious movement, it is important to recognize that this loss of credibility is not merely an American reality.
Like much of American culture, Evangelicalism, as it developed in the American context, was exported around the world. Growing up in Canada, I listened nightly to Adventures in Odyssey. Focus on the Family parenting manuals were treated like sacred texts. The voices of leaders such as John MacArthur and John Piper shaped what felt like the definitive perspective on theology. Ecclesial movements like Calvary Chapel, Sovereign Grace, Mars Hill, and the American megachurch model became the default template for how we “did church.”
This is not unique to Canada. The same strain of Evangelicalism carried its trademarked “gospel” and its formal structures to the rest of the world through sophisticated marketing and an early mastery of emerging online platforms.
In short, American Evangelicalism’s political failure has not only damaged a local religious movement, it continues to erode the broader credibility of Christianity itself.
English

It takes an incredible amount of skill to do that at full speed and at such an angle.
The audacity is also worth noting. Coach and teammates wouldn’t jump down his throat if he missed.

LOLOLOLO. When I was a kid, the Times Square subway station was literally one of the most dangerous places in the world. Have you seen Death Wish, French Connection, Taxi Driver, Panic in Needle Park, Midnight Cowboy?
Alternatively: Have you read a book?

Look at this video of NYC in 1975, see how peaceful it was? Look at how everybody seems to be enjoying their lives, and not contrast it to today. Our country has been ruined.

@wil_da_beast630 This is Americans trying to define the world throw their own prism! Completely ignorant of actual reality of the world.

Dravidians aren't Bantu/Negroes, or "black" in any normal sense of this term.
They just have dark skin, because the sun is also hot in South India.
