The Sabrina Carpenter aesthetic has no natural sex appeal to any legitimately straight man.
And she rightfully doesn't care, it's not supposed to. Straight men are not her core audience.
Petite, glammed up with sparkly dresses, and a fierce yet inwardly sterile maneater 'sex appeal' is performative femininity.
Nothing to do with the intangible qualities of actual womanhood. Entirely faux, external, and illusory –– you don't have to be a real woman to fully participate in it.
Ironically, men might even perform it better.
It's an archetype that can easily be cosplayed by dolling up, changing the pitch of your voice, and adopting recognisable sassy mannerisms.
This is why it appeals to many young girls who have not yet psychologically entered womanhood as well as gay men.
It's similar to the hyper-performative 'femininity' of drag shows. Aspects of femininity are accentuated and formed into a caricature.
Represents an aspirational energy for young women and gay men to tap into.
