@sappholives83 But why? Why go to all this effort? Who in the corporate sponsors benefits from this massive amount of lobbying activity?

So let's imagine a scenario of how capitalism actually works, kids. You ready? I'm a pharma guy and my company creates a drug that can save the lives of people who are going to die if they don't get it. It costs $5/dose to make. My guys say we should sell it for $15K/dose.

@CenCaliCowboy @ryanbdrm @jzellis Incorrect. There is competition to make better versions (e.g. fast acting versions - See Arecor) and better overall drugs (e.g. GLP1s) where companies (I.e. their investors/shareholder) invest real $$$ in R&D. Limited patent life forces/ensures R&D investment

@ryanbdrm @jzellis Anyone producing insulin right now has zero R&D costs. It’s the same with many other drugs with an expired patent.

@GordonBrown Sensible mixed with bonkers. Guarantee an end to poverty? Nice, but somewhat hard to guarantee

12 years of Tory rule has made the UK the most regionally unequal economy in Europe. To build prosperity and tackle poverty across the whole UK, we need to change not just who governs but how we are governed. We need genuine political reform. [THREAD]

We are very pleased that preclinical data from CB213, our dual-targeting PD-1 and LAG-3 Humabody therapeutic, have been published in the prestigious British Journal of Cancer, showcasing the elegant pharmacology of this novel molecule. nature.com/articles/s4141…

@SikhForTruth @williamnhutton …unless you design in from the start that personal data cannot be shared. The Blok pass platform doesn’t collect these data so it is fully self-sovereign and private.

The route to the freedom we all crave is obvious- a Covid passport - and would be widely supported. Fears of Big Brother or vaccine apartheid are wildly wrong. It’s too soon to end lockdown. But give us the best route to early freedom – Covid passports theguardian.com/commentisfree/…

@GrumpyPete @doctor_oxford False positives from LFDs has been shown to be very small (less than 1/1000) and the chance of a false negative from PCR is much higher (hard to measure 29-1% in one meta-study) IVD is not straightforward.

@doctor_oxford It was predicable 10m children tested twice a week with a false positive rate of 2%. All schools will be closed in a month.

You really, really couldn't make this up. After one day of school, my son & 30 other pupils are self-isolating at home for 10 days after one child had a positive school lateral flow test. *Even though* the subsequent gold standard PCR test was negative. (1/n)

@SikhForTruth @wef @commons_prjct Self-sovereignty must be designed into the core of any health pass system; policy-makers need to understand what this means. The Blok Pass has taken this approach from the beginning- it’s not just about making databases hard to hack, it’s also about making surveillance impossible
