[Pictured: The Theodore Roosevelt Bridge in D.C. missing sculptures on the abutments.] .@washingtonpost quoted me today regarding a proposal to beautify the city: The White House on Friday proposed a $10 billion fund intended to help beautify Washington... The president’s new funding proposal was praised by some advocates for beautifying the city, such as Justin Shubow, the president of @civicartsociety, a nonprofit focused on classical art and architecture. “It’s wonderful to see the interest in beautifying Washington, D.C., which FDR called the loveliest city in the world,” said Shubow, who also chairs a Trump administration council focused on beautifying transportation infrastructure. “There’s so much to do. Besides repairing iconic fountains, the featureless Theodore Roosevelt Bridge ought to be completed with large carved sculptures as originally intended.”

This should be the scariest video any elected official has ever seen. We cite Wall Street bonuses as proof that New York’s economy is thriving, but the CEO of the largest private employer in the city is publicly admitting his headcount here is shrinking while he grows in Texas. The tax base we’re counting on is quietly walking out the door. Instead of pro-growth policy that attracts new investment, our electeds keep fishing from the same shrinking pond and then act surprised when the catch gets smaller every year. If we don’t change course, keep increasing our bills … there will be almost no one left to pay it.

"Our head count in Manhattan when I got to JPMorgan was 35,000 and now is 26,000. Our head count in Texas started at 11,000, now it's 33,000. That's what happens." Jamie Dimon on why companies are leaving New York: "Highest individual taxes, highest estate taxes, highest corporate taxes, anti-business sentiment." "When I grew up as a kid in New York City, there were 120 of the Fortune 500 headquarters there. In the 1970s, 60 of the 120 left, including Exxon, GE, IBM, Union Carbide. They're all going to Texas." The Hill & Valley Forum 2026 @HillValleyForum @jpmorgan @ChairmanG

@ryanbdrm @WillTFB_ and no one will care about the specific angle you got lol. One of my favorite photos of our family is a photo of all of us looking up at the solar eclipse in 2016. No one cares about the video you took

Cool project: the DC Waymo delay dashboard tracks how many DC residents are dead because the mayor and city council keep demanding studies instead of allowing Waymo: tbhochman.github.io/dc-waymo-dashb…

IDK, I partially agree but it’s also about capturing my POV at a moment in time, even if it was not picturesque, it was mine and puts me back into that time and place and the emotions I felt seeing it. More than that it’s also about keeping a personal record of all the artworks I’ve seen that I can go back to at any time and read more information about since I don’t have time in a museum to read about everything. After a month, I don’t remember more than half the things I saw in a museum. (Not everything I’ve seen, I just started uploading them to this app yesterday to organize them)

Yup if the subject of the photo can easily be googled and has been professionally photographed many times it’s not worth taking a picture unless you’re in it or there’s something else of interest. This is what the idiot moids are asking for

Someone taking a creative photo of themselves with the reflection of the artemis launch in their glasses is more interesting and indicative of her experience on earth, but these nerds would rather 4782 images of the same rocket in the sky from the same angle.

@joedeleone What you don’t understand is that Kelce value as a media personality is far greater than his specific sports knowledge, which is why he’s “overpaid”

I feel like ESPN has no idea what to do with Kelce. Overpaid and just throwing shit against the wall. Get this dude on the board breaking down offensive line prospects, I’d be far more interested in that than him at the Masters
Yahoo Sports@YahooSports

ESPN is shipping Jason Kelce off to The Masters next week, per @_DavidRumsey. Kelce will serve as an on-course reporter during the Par 3 contest at August after making his debut at TGL earlier this month.

America is such a fascinating place because this man is providing a service that actually materially benefits people, arguably what the government is designed to do, and you will still see articles upon articles trying to convince you he’s actually doing a bad thing.

This ad is in Washington DC. Like many ads in Washington DC the intended audience is not the general public, it’s Members of Congress, their legislative staff, federal regulators like the SEC/CFTC, maybe even journalists and judicial clerks. It may not even come from their marketing department, but their lobbying department.
