I’m confused. Defensive military aid stops rockets aimed at innocent children and families. So, why oppose it? We provide defensive military aid to Ukraine, Taiwan, Egypt, Jordan, Iraq, Kenya, etc. @AOC Should we cut all of them off? Or is that your policy just for the Jews?

Ce soir, le peuple juif célèbre sa liberté. La sortie d’Égypte. La fin de l’esclavage. Je ne suis pas juif. Je suis Syrien. Et pourtant, cette histoire me parle. Elle me touche profondément. Parce que j’ai grandi dans un monde où Israël était l’ennemi désigné, par défaut. Où l’histoire juive n’était jamais racontée pour être comprise, mais pour être rejetée. Pour haïr. Mais nier cette réalité, c’est souvent haïr les Juifs parce qu’ils sont Juifs. Et c’est là le cœur du problème du monde dans lequel je suis né. Moi, Syrien, venu d’un pays où ce peuple est rejeté par défaut, ce soir, comme toujours, je regarde cette fête de la liberté avec respect et émotion. Parce qu’au fond, la vraie question est : voulons-nous vraiment être libres, ou préférons-nous rester enfermés dans la haine ? Moi, j’ai fait mon choix.
