Sevilla FC head coach Matías Almeyda: “Today there are wars, but we’re talking about a football match. This means ‘we don’t care about anything.’" "Just think about it: each of those missiles launched is probably worth €50m, but then we say ‘there’s hunger in Africa.’" "Why don’t we spend that €50m on rice aid or education instead of launching those missiles? But we keep living in a world that’s only for ourselves." Kudos to SERVILLA You secured the right place in history. From today my favorite team is SERVILLA.

@TheAthleticFC With Iwobi and other players getting older , it’s apt for the NFF to go for Chukwuemeka and other young nationals born to Nigerian parents who are uncapped ..

The Austrian Football Association are working on an agreement for Carney Chukwuemeka to switch his international allegiance ahead of the 2026 World Cup. The Borussia Dortmund midfielder has been capped up to under-20 level with England and was part of the under-19 side that won the 2022 European Championship. The 22-year-old has not appeared for England’s senior side, however, and can switch his allegiance. The former Chelsea and Aston Villa player was born in Eisenstadt, Austria, to Nigerian parents. He spent his early years in the country before moving to Northampton, England, and becoming a British citizen. More from @SebSB 🔗 nytimes.com/athletic/70383…

These are the facts of the two sides that can’t be disputed:Firstly,Secessionist IPOB supporters in the US are those who concocted, promoted, sponsored and hawked the issue of ‘Christian genocide’ with the aim of achieving their own goals.Secondly, the FG reportedly spent $9 million tax payers money to a lobby group in the US in order to counter the plot. The result is that we remain a ‘country of particular concern’ but working in partnership with the US to combat the terrorists.

I read that President Trump has imposed a total travel ban on 15 countries. I am yet to see the full list of the affected countries, but I sincerely hope Nigeria is not included, so that we won’t have difficulties traveling to watch next year’s FIFA World Cup.

@renoomokri Isn’t Nigeria a good investment destination ? Why recommend Chainlink and Bitcoin? I never see you urge people to invest in Nigeria however you keep recommending crypto and foreign stocks in stable countries while you keep destabilizing Nigeria with ur fellow political bandits.

If you want to make money, my opinion is that you invest in Chainlink and Bitcoin Cash while they are down. They will go back up. It is only a matter of time. Ask my subscribers. Those cryptos are their bread and butter, along with the S&P 500.

Dear President Tinubu, I bring this humble request on behalf of millions of Nigerian football lovers. As we all know, Cristiano Ronaldo and Real Madrid fans make up roughly 60–75% of Nigeria’s football-loving population. Sir, we would be absolutely delighted if you could bring Ronaldo and the Portugal national team to play at the MKO Abiola Stadium in Abuja. This single gesture would electrify the country, unite supporters across regions and strengthen the excitement ahead of the 2027 general election. 🐐

It is all over the news that Angola paid €12 million to bring Messi and his Argentina national team to Africa for a friendly match. Out of curiosity, I decided to browse through the pages of several Angolan influencers, expecting to see them cursing their country for what many would easily call an obvious case of misplaced priority. To my surprise, even though a good number of them openly disagree with their government on many issues, it was still hard to find a single person insulting the country over the government’s decision to pay millions of dollars just to bring Argentina to play in Angola. I will pray to see when Nigerians will disgrace with the government’s actions or policies and still keep the sense of national pride intact, regardless of the political debate.

@renoomokri Nigerians are being slaughtered like chickens in the north and south from Zamfara to Kwara yet all that matters to you is romance , bedroom and boardroom skills. Nothing good can come from an abusive man ..

Even if you think you know how to make love, you can still lose a woman you love to a man who knows how to make money. Romance is very easy for women to get. If she goes to a club, she will find it. Even if she goes to church, romance will still find her there in the midst of shouts of Hallelujah. It is finance that is hard to find. Many women are not looking for men to find them. They are looking for who to fund them. Therefore, focus on your boardroom skills, not your bedroom kills! #RenosNuggets

@BashirAhmaad Both Garba Shehu and his late principal are huge liabilities to the country . Both con men rode on gullible Nigerians to acquire stupendous wealth for themselves . Buhari was a pandemic , should never have been president . Obasanjo was right to dislike an unpatriotic Buhari

Garba Shehu, a former media aide to the late President Muhammadu Buhari has given insight into why his principal was “hated” by Olusegun Obasanjo. Reacting to a recent remark by former President Obasanjo over the Buhari’s administration, Shehu said the former never liked his boss. Also referring to his book, ‘According to the President: Lessons from a Presidential Spokesman’s Experience’, Shehu, however said the late Buhari held Obasanjo in high esteem. He said the duo fell out of respect and admiration for each other over an unmeng demand. According to Garba Shehu, Obasanjo had made some demands of Muhammadu Buhari during his tenure as president in the Mambilla Power Project. In the book, he said, “There are many around Muhammadu Buhari who hold that the spectacular falling out between him (Buhari) and his superior in the military whom he cherished and much respected, President Olusegun Obasanjo, was on account of the demand, reportedly put to him by Obasanjo, that the contract for the Mambilla Power Project be given to a contractor he preferred. ‘‘On this, the late Buhari politely told the former president to allow him to handle it his own way, following the due process that was in place.”

@FinPlanKaluAja1 @AbubakarBala2 You might be right however I would prefer an Atiku to commit publicly to a one term presidency to balance out Tinubu’s one term then return power to the south (east ) for eight years to ensure fairness and equity . That should be an ample time for any leader to get things done .

How Long is Enough to Deliver? Trump has been in office for about six months. What about Milei? Four years consist of 48 months—that's the duration of an entire university degree. While you may not be able to fix all the roads in four years, you can significantly address corruption in just four hours. You can tackle the spending problem and food inflation within four months. A person-centric budget focusing on Human Development Index (HDI) can be passed in four days. Remember how long it took to pass the National Anthem bill? Six days? Mindset Can Change in Four Years I was in Abuja when Buhari was elected. Civil servants consistently reported to work by 8 a.m. for the first two months. During Buhari's first term as a general, how long did it take for Nigerians to start doing basic things like lining up to enter a bus? Even Infrastructure The International Conference Centre was completed in about one year under IBB. The Port Harcourt and Kaduna refineries were constructed in four years. The NLNG Trains 1 and 2 were delivered in four years, with Train 2 coming online in just three years. General Gowon built FESTAC Town in Lagos in less than three years. Femi Gbajabiamila handed over a 484-bed residence hall to the University of Lagos, completed in less than four years. Time is not the issue; capacity is always the challenge. Those who struggle to deliver often use time as an excuse.

The worst mistake you can make in politics is to make the first move or lay your cards on the table while others are still watching the shuffle. If you are familiar with the Prisoner’s Dilemma in game theory, you’ll understand that making a rational choice often requires silencing your emotions.
