I don’t need to quote Tim—John said it himself because he thought it would help him, he’s a politician, I’d expect no different and I don’t fault him for it, but he can certainly be held accountable for it. personally, I don’t see a leader in either of them. The under-analyzed third space in America is the waiting/eating areas outside of grocery stores. All grocery stores have them, a sort of aimless series of tables or chairs screwed into the concrete outside the store, from Erewhon all the way down to discount grocery, and if you pay attention you'll notice that these areas are always full of people just hanging around. For example the Mexican discount grocery will have a sleeping cowboy, while the Erewhon will have a black man reading a book in a purple suit. These people stay there for extremely long periods of time and seem to buy nothing from the actual store. Grocery stores emit a strange warmth that weirdos are attracted to
