My husband is not attending his “long-time” friend’s wedding this weekend because he did not attend our son’s naming ceremony. This is someone he’s known since their uni days. They did the same course, stayed in the same hall, and have kept in touch for years. Even though he has shown my husband some bad behaviors of his, my husband still kept the communication running. He didn't care. Last year, this friend did his introduction in Ogun State, and my husband traveled all the way from Lagos to be there for him. A couple of months later, I gave birth and my husband specifically invited him to our naming ceremony and he said okay. The very day of the ceremony, he called and said he couldn’t make it. His reason? That our place is “too far”, then proceeded to send 10k to him. The wedding is in the outskirts of Lagos, If our house is too far for our celebration, then his wedding is too far for him. He’s staying home.
