I've got nothing against King Charles personally—in fact, he seems like a decent and thoughtful man—but why the heck are we inviting the 77-year-old monarch of a medium-sized nation that committed something close to national suicide with Brexit to address a joint session of Congress? "Of more worth is one honest man to society," wrote Thomas Paine, "than all the crowned ruffians that ever lived." We are the nation that threw off a crowned ruffian and ended hereditary privilege to create a republic where the people rule. Happy 250th Birthday America.
@zola155@DanSilvs73 Got to be his own man Barry. Anything like we have experienced thus far just leads to more mediocrity. The manager has to be in control of transfers, selection and tactics. Nothing else will work
Th Journo’s mates blatantly deflecting from the real problem, the owners & SD’s & dumping the blame on the players. But those players were handpicked & signed by the SDs, so if anyone’s responsible for this mess, it’s the people making the decisions, not the ones carrying them.
@MaxFSport@evilbluebird So the people that got us in this position get to decide what happens next. It’s a bit like asking Liz Truss to lead the UK to economic success
🔵 Chelsea’s sporting directors are currently discussing what style of play they want to go for and stick to as part of their self reflection.
Sources say Chelsea want a stability builder, a coach who won’t put Chelsea under any short term threat of another change.
@AndyWoodturner Sounds wonderful. Always great to talk with experts in their later years and know they still have the passion and give encouragement to current exponents
I've just spent THE MOST WONDERFUL hour talking to Ray Jones, a turner some of you may know of. Hadn't spoken to him for nearly 20 yrs. He's 83, still has the turning business, still turning, and an absolute delight. I first met him around 2000, at Ally Pally wood show, when I...
@gusmears1905 Questions for self reflection
1. What have I done to improve this club?
2. Do I have the skills and knowledge to be successful here?
3. Have I hired good people that do the job?
4. How do I approach the next stage of this to enable success?
5. Do I have a scooby what I am doing?
The owners' "self reflection" needs to consider:
1. Why fans hate them
2. Why we can't get a FOS deal
3. Why too many in our squad are entitled with poor discipline
4. No stadium progress
5. Why majority of our signings by SDs are wank
Could take a while.
The many problems at board/coach level shouldn't detract from player accountability.
It's a side bereft of leadership, discipline, too often basic effort.
Not enough respect for the club they represent.
Very few can hold their heads up after this season.
The Management team and SDs must stop interfering with player acquisitions and imposing influence otherwise whoever replaces Rosenior will be gone in another 6 months.
Let the coach bring in his players and build the team
The suits shld be asking themselves why interest & morale among our matchgoing support is so low that we can't sell out a Wembley SF vs a historic rival. As a mate said in the rapidly emptying away end last night, the prevailing mood, on & off the pitch, seems one of total apathy
They've saved a drowning man. I feel for him. Took a job he probably couldn't refuse. Then had players undermine him, off and on the pitch. I bear him no ill and am not going to slag him off. Good luck LR, you tried #cfc
The midfield trio of Fernandez, Caicedo and Lavia is quite possibly the most expensive in world football.
Last night they were, inexcusably, totally out-fought and out-muscled by Brighton.
Pathetic, individually and collectively.
The optics for how the #CFC is being run must be so underwater it would give the late Jacques Cousteau a boner. Any further humiliation at Wembley will surely be the last straw to make this clueless board to rethink their strategy.
