@MrBrum43 Turkey is now Türkiye to actual Turks Ivory Coast is Côte d'Ivoire to the actual people of what we know as Ivory Coast. I have No problem with nations being referred to or called their actual native names.

That count probably has some inland count in it, but still the east coast is a gold mine

It was a football match. At the end of the day in Australia the US is by far the country we are closest to culturally and it is not even close.

people don't seem to have an image in their heads of what it would be like. here's a comparison with the area of the MCG, which you'd probably want to host the final like maybe you could use Accor/Stadium Australia, but it's also an oval and everyone hates it

an Australia-NZ World Cup would be awful - the only stadiums large enough for knockout games are ovals, and there would be zero political will to spend billions on new rectangular stadiums

There are far more small coastal towns on the east coast of the states that value the ocean and that way of life than in the UK. Couldn’t find a youth over there that wants to fish
