While exploring what decentralized Web3 AI is competing with, I've been using NotebookLM. A new update enables it to make mind maps and video summaries of research. It's been quite useful! I can even share the entire notebook for this research or just elements of it. Definitely worth trying out and adding to your toolkit while you DYOR.

Big Tech is tying itself into knots over Responsible AI. Web3 AI hasn't mentioned it once. This could be a huge advantage Web3 AI has over the incumbents - if Web3 AI projects are focusing on the right things...

No more magical internet money??? Not if you want to run a project with staying power. Web3 businesses should be in the business of staying in business - - this requires running lean and earning revenue above costs, which isn't normal in these parts. Luckily for the industry, @thepoktopus says that the more Web3 projects that focus on clean business and delivery, the more CTOs around the world will be happy to turn to Web3 solutions.

Want mass adoption? Follow the rules! Web3 AI projects will conform to at least some of the principles laid out by national governments and big tech if it will scale up. Ultimately, Web3 tech may need to conform to survive... Unsurprisingly, there's a fundamental schism between trad tech and Web3 AI. Whereas national governments and big tech focus on social issues, our Web3 brethren are focusing on opensource SC-governed fairness.

These two are not the same. While Web3 AI builders focus on utility, decentralization, and economic viability- Multinationals and governments are ensuring AI tech does negatively impact social inequality. In the end, Web3 will have to bend the knee or win a war.

Is more free a thing? I tried out @Sogni_Protocol and @prodialabs GenAI image generators to see which one was faster, more accurate, and had more features. Both are free to use! ✅Sogni generated Flux outputs faster by about a second on average ✅Prodia outputs were slowed by a Cloudflare verification every time, but may have beaten Sogni without that... ✅Sogni had a much more robust feature set & value-adds ✅Prodia's minimalistic approach makes for a simple UX ✅Sogni's prompt enhancer vastly improved the outputs on both platforms Overall, I was impressed to see Sogni really hold its own on this head-on eval. It's always nice to see Web3 projects come out on top. The future of AI image generation likely favors platforms that combine speed, customization, and blockchain-native features.
