Smith was on the cusp of either 1) becoming the POTUS or 2) going out west to establish the country of the Kingdom of God with him as it's monarch.
Morover, He was quite close to leading the Nauvoo Legion, which rivaled the US Army in numbers, on a "Joseph Smith or the sword!" jihad.
I for one, would have loved to see how this played out.

@hammerofvision I don't think he deserved his death but this is the one assassination you'd change?
I feel like we wouldnt have Utah, lots of western settlement, and so much more if Smith wasn't killed when he was.

@hammerofvision @scratchyjohnson That's awful man. I'm very sorry to hear that. They should replace or refund things. But I've seen the same from my companies, never really willing to back you up if things happen. Protect yourself as best you can.

The "secure" room at the jobsite was broken into over the weekend. The thieves jacked $1,400 worth of my personal tools. Do you have any advice for me?
I have made a very thorough list of my missing tools to turn into my employer and the general contractor.

@scratchyjohnson Once I retool I will take extra precautions. Chains are a good ideal. I may even set a booby trap.

@hammerofvision Unhelpful now, but one of the things we did was set the van up assuming that the thief was already in. All the boxes were chained together, or to anchor points. They could get in but they couldn't take the toolboxes out.
