@MSkurzewski @DanGlynn27761 Andujar just clutters the OF. He hasn’t played 3B since 2021. only played 3B more than 10 games once. That was 2018 and he was bad.

@hauser42 @DanGlynn27761 and I was saying it was moreso just funny people were saying wherever could Suarez play? 3B maybe lol. Another name I mentioned for #Brewers to pursue was Miguel Andujar. Versatile but unlike scrappy, no-pop depth INF Brewers have he can hit.

@DanGlynn27761 @MSkurzewski He didn’t want to plays anywhere but Cincy. He and his family wanted to be in Cincy. He wasn’t taking calls from other teams. It was not about money or years.

@DanGlynn27761 @MSkurzewski He only wanted to play for the Reds. He kept his home there and told his agent to get a deal done with them.

@BrewPack8 80s was a party. Drinking and partying were not frowned upon. Brewers of 80s were a symbol of how Wisconsin people lived . Work and play hard on and off field.

@JK4D7 Agree on all that. the pitching coach can change a pitch mix prior to the game. You do know they use an advance scout to see how teams are playing and what should work. They also self scout their own players and find issuers and correct them.

@hauser42 Sanchez is literally the worst defensive catcher in baseball, he turns strikes into balls, he allows passed ball and he is not good at calling pitches William Contreras is widely considered to be the complete opposite of that Pitching coaches can’t change that during a game.

Three straight two-out singles by KC make it a 4-2 game now. The third drove in a run and came from Isaac Collins. That's all for Sproat.

@JK4D7 So when he has a bad outing it’s on Contreras ??Not poor control or bad placement?

@JK4D7 Where do think that catcher gets the scouting report ? Who holds the meeting to go over Jays with the pitcher and catcher ?? You don’t think the pitching coach is working with him?

@JK4D7 @Todd_Rosiak Contreras is only part of the equation. He had better control today and used a different pitch mix. Part of it is was his 3rd start. Also the staff changed how he worked. Either due to Jays or what they thought was his best stuff. It’s not one thing.

@hauser42 @Todd_Rosiak Yeah and I said they could have caught Sanchez at night with Patrick and Contreras during the day with Sproat… which is exactly what happened today Your point is literally irrelevant

@hankyklocko @AdamMcCalvy Yamamoto has reached the 7 one time this year. Other 3 games are 6IP. Woo has gotten 7IP 2 of 4. Soriano was into 7 and 8 last 2. Prior to that he was 6IP. Soriano also right now is the running as hottest pitcher in baseball.

Brandon Sproat was one out away from becoming the first Brewers pitcher to complete 7 IP, and threw only 75 pitches. But the Brewers are going to the bullpen the rest of the way. We'll hear from Pat Murphy on that after the game. Guessing the concern was the number of "ups."

@hankyklocko @AdamMcCalvy 6 guys is not the bulk of MLB pitchers. Brewers isn't the only team doing this stuff.

@hauser42 @AdamMcCalvy ?? Sandy alcantara has a complete game. I just listed a half dozen who average more than 6 innings. I’m talking about allowing any of our guys to even GET to the 7th.

@hankyklocko @AdamMcCalvy Like I said go check the box scores on random weeks. Fried and Alcantara are more groundball type pitchers. They are not guys throwing hard every pitch.

@hauser42 @AdamMcCalvy Noones saying they need to go 8/9 every night.. when they are at 70 pitches, they need to pitch into the 7th. Plenty teams around the league do this. Sandy alcantara went into the 9th twice. He has injury history. Max fried averages 6 2/3 in 5 starts. George Kirby the same.

@hankyklocko @AdamMcCalvy Starting Pitchers with 7+ Innings in 2026 Based on the 2026 MLB season data, Trevor Rogers is the only starting pitcher so far who has gone 7.0 innings or more in a single game StatMuse.

@hankyklocko @AdamMcCalvy Take one week look at every boxscore from the night before. Keep track how many guys pitch to the 6th and beyond. MLB doesnt push starting pitchers. Starters no longer log innings like we use to see back in 60,70, and 80s.

@hauser42 @AdamMcCalvy Chad Patrick threw 50 pitches his start before. Sproat can’t remember but long relief couldn’t have thrown that many. Those two absolutely should have at least finished the 6th. So no pitchers will ever throw 7 innings ever. Got it

@hankyklocko @AdamMcCalvy Once again Milwaukee isnt the only team that does this. Its how teams are using pitchers in todays game. Why they keep rotating arms up from minors to fill bullpen roles during the season.

@hauser42 @AdamMcCalvy Freddy was at 100 pitches in the 5th damn near every start. So we’ll just burn our pen every game. They’ll all be cooked by October.

@hankyklocko @AdamMcCalvy Looking at just pitch counts is old hat. Now they considered how many times a guy has been up and down. Because of the warming and cooling of the arm and fatigue that brings to a guy. They take in account injury history and prior game pitch accounts.

@hankyklocko @AdamMcCalvy Most teams done let this happen. Numbers back it up that batter facing pitcher 3rd time around have better numbers. Freddy last year had a ERA over 5 facing batter a 3rd time. Woody even said he was at the edge of being done.

@LuDort4HOF @BrewPack8 Teams today dont let batters face a pitcher 3 times in a game very much. Numbers back it up that hitting increases 3rd time around. Freddy was great example of this. His ERA last year was over 5 when he faced a batter 3rd time in a game.

WHAT a start from Brandon Sproat. Even the one run he gave up wasn’t his fault, just a double beat into the ground. That’s why you don’t give up on a guy after a couple appearances.

@hankyklocko @AdamMcCalvy Maybe the Brewers shouldnt have made the qualifying offer to him. The amount of pitchers that dont throw 7IP a start is huge in todays games.
