@HeloFlyNavy @CptRed_6 @DNLSHLR @SecWar Ditto on that. You know damn well our priority is upholding the constitution for others. We sign a paper saying we forfeit some of our own rights to uphold that. 1st and 2nd included.

@The_Bunny_Doll That's truly awful to have been put through it. But for all that pain, you've been given an incredible gift of seeing what that love should have looked like in the mirror as you love yourself more and more. I hope it grants you closure

My mother is a total sociopath, she stopped masking about halfway through my upbringing and it was so jarring seeing the change in her which happened over what felt like the course of a month, suddenly she just became someone else and it was so apparent she never really wanted children, but did it likely out of a sense of "duty" in her marriage, when the marriage broke down at a much later point she no longer cared. She stopped cooking dinner, just filled the kitchen with crappy frozen ready meals and junk food, letting my sister and I just heat whatever we wanted. She was there in physicality, but not emotionally or mentally, I remember the only way I could get her attention was crying and yelling about how utterly depressed I felt and her response was "what do you want me to do about it?", before turning her head back to the TV and taking another hit off a joint, I spent most of my early teens rotting away in my tiny bedroom, and I can only remember her coming to check on me once, I could've probably died and it would've taken her at least a day or two to realise. Earlier in my childhood I remember glimpses of this unmasked version of her, the most vivid memory being that of the time my pet rabbit escaped the pen it was in while I was in the garden playing, when I was maybe 8 or 9, took hours to find her and while my dad was still out looking, I was having a bath, my mother came in and told me he still hadn't found her and that it was my fault, out of frustration and upset I cried and hit myself, she responded in the coldest tone I'd ever heard "good, now do it again", before standing there waiting. Transitioning has made me look a lot like her, I look in the mirror and see her eyes looking back at me and it makes me feel upset and anxious.

@RobSchneider As a service member I'm gonna need to see you make it through basic before we take any advice from you fuckers who dodged drafting requirements. You don't get to ask children to die on your behalf until you do something of value, bob

Rob Schneider 🇺🇸
Rob Schneider 🇺🇸@RobSchneider·
“Ask not what your country can do for you, but what you can do for your country.” - John F. Kennedy We must once again recommit ourselves to one Nation under God, indivisible. Therefore, we must restore the military draft for our Nation’s young people. Each and every American, at eighteen years of age, must serve two years of military service. They could also choose to serve part of that time overseas or in country in a volunteer capacity. Being a citizen of the United States gives us unparalleled Freedoms and opportunities that are the envy of the world. However, these Freedoms that we cherish do not come without a cost. By protecting and preserving these Freedoms, young people, regardless of race, creed or religion will be united in service to their country and just as importantly, to each other. Many Nations around the world require their young citizens to serve their country. Until recently, our Nation did as well. This would serve many purposes in our society; We would have all of our young men and women put into a rigorous physical training course that they could use for the rest of their lives, we would always have a standing army ready at all times including for domestic problems like natural disasters. Unlike in today’s Universities, our young people will learn how truly great their country is and how unique and incredible are the Freedoms that this Nation bestows upon them. Service is a solemn reminder of the men and women before them who “paid the last full measure of devotion” so that we may enjoy these Freedoms. Also, very importantly, we would have in service every segment of our society represented so that our elected officials would be more hesitant and not cavalier about sending their own sons and daughters off to a faraway war unless it was truly in our Nation’s interests. This discussion and implementation must begin. To the young people of America, this is your country and your future. We will leave this great and Free Nation in your good hands for your children and for your children’s children. God Bless the United States of America! Love, Rob Schneider

I am trying to understand your thought process. An Iranian ship was invited to a conference in India and while they are there, their country is involved in a war with the United States/Isreal. There is debate as to whether the ship was armed. So, by your logic, which one is true? A. Because they were at a conference, they get a free pass to get home. And since they are unarmed, they get the opportunity to go home unmolested so they can rearm and start shooting at US forces. B. Because they were at a conference, they get a free pass to get home. Even though they are armed, they get the opportunity to go home unmolested so they can get home and start shooting at US forces. A or B?

This will go down in history as one of the most reckless, most egregious actions committed by the USG. There is no justification for it. The ship was returning from a naval exercise in India. They could have been blockaded, prevented from reaching their home country. But this was a plain massacre, and it happened too close to Indian waters.

@LizJone55098804 PTSD manifests in a lot of ways. ED is one of them. A single approach treatment is neither all-encompassing and is frankly diminutive to the many issues folks with PTSD can face

I was literally discharged from the military for being trans (even though I’m deployable and cost $1M to the taxpayer to train) after 16 years of honorable service with no retirement. Kansas just invalidated licenses of trans people without a grace period or mailing them a replacement, adult access to healthcare is being taken away, even with letters stating it’s medically necessary. But please good sir, tell me more about how I’m forcing you to do anything while you go to the bathroom.
Gad Saad@GadSaad

Yesterday, I was watching on TV a truly insufferable "queer" comedy show that took place in Montreal. The host was Alan Cumming whom I like. But he opened up with some unhinged falsehoods: Trans people were being hunted in the US; their rights were eviscerated; they were forced to become invisible; they were erased. This is why there has been such a backlash against trans activists. No one is hunting you down; your rights have not been eviscerated; if anything, the rights of women to be free of "women with penises" are the ones whose rights have been destroyed. Regarding your invisibility, I can't go to a bathroom without having to celebrate the glorifying beauty of queerness. So f-off with this shite. Live your life as you please but don't ask us to participate in your delusions.

@LizJone55098804 It's quality of life. If a soldier comes back with ptsd that can create or worsen ED, the government has an obligation to fix the problem of the person they fucked over

@LizJone55098804 @JoEllisReally Your unlisted anecdotal evidence trumped her stating her own lived experience. She paid for it out of pocket. The government not only doesn't pay for trans healthcare currently, it kicks trans people out. The government spending you abhor is the incentive for most to even join rn

i’m going to be completely honest about something and you might dislike me for this but- i don’t blame her. when i was 11 my mother passed away. she was abusive my entire childhood, an alcoholic and drug addict, and would take it all out on me. we had no environment to form a bond, and she had been out of my life for 4 years before she died. i felt no remorse during her funeral, i didn’t cry, i wasn’t sad. she wasn’t my mom, she was someone who i barely knew outside of her hurting me. in fact, i hated her. her drugs meant more to her than i did, than my sister did, than my dad did, than anything in her life did. even when she lost custody of my sister and i, she didn’t stop. she just found new ways to hide it during partial custody, until the legal system said enough was enough and had us taken entirely from her besides visitation rights (which she didn’t use). now of course as im older i do miss her sometimes, but not the her that she was, the her that she could’ve been had she been able to finally quit the substances she was so loyal to. i’ve been told before that i should still miss her, i should grieve her, i should care more because “she was your mom after all”. you cannot hold somebody to your standards of grieving when you know nothing about their situation, and rae is entitled to keep her personal details surrounding their relationship private. i’m not saying that he was terrible to her to the extent that my experience was, but that’s also not our information to know if he was. it’s her life, her family, her experiences and while her life is more publicized because of her fame, people still have no right to tell someone how they should act about an emotional experience that is personal to them.

The really sad ending to Scott Adam’s was that his hard right conservative turn was the beginning of the end of him. When he started Dilbert he produced a truly clever comic strip that regularly eviscerated conservative thinking. The minute he became a conservative himself he became the very thing he used to mock and ended up thinking he was smarter than his own doctors, which would ultimately cost him his life. Truly a sad ending to a sadder man and his life should be a lasting testament to the dead-end, literally, of modern reactionary conservatism.

American taxpayers are forcing a 1 million dollar bill all so Trump and his allies can get away with having abused women and children. They had a year to redact these files. They claimed they had done a full review of all of them earlier this year. They didn’t actually expect to have to be forced to hand them over.
