Artemis II crew, we're leaving the lights on for you 💡 In downtown Cleveland, Terminal Tower and Public Square are lit up today, April 10, in honor of the @NASAArtemis II team! Following their historic test flight around the Moon, the four astronauts will make their return to Earth tonight, splashing down off the coast of San Diego around 8:07 p.m. EDT.

They went to the Moon. Tonight, they come home. 🌑 Tonight, Commander Reid Wiseman, Pilot Victor Glover, Mission Specialist Christina Koch, and Mission Specialist Jeremy Hansen splash down in the Pacific and return home after traveling farther from Earth than any humans in history. Their portraits will shine on our Embassy walls through the end of April as we continue to celebrate the historic Artemis II mission.

Artemis II is locked in 🔒 As they flew around the Moon, the Artemis II crew took turns capturing science data and taking photos out of the Orion spacecraft window to share with their team back on Earth.

Out here playing with Earth-Moon gravity like it is a toy and seeing things that are beautiful beyond comprehension.

The Artemis II astronauts recently showed off some of their historic cargo aboard the Orion spacecraft, including the American flag prepared for the Apollo 18 mission. The Apollo 18 and 19 missions were cancelled in September 1970 to focus on Skylab and developing the Shuttle.

The Artemis II crew had the rare chance to see a solar eclipse from space. 🚀🌘☀️ This video stitches together views from Orion's solar array wing cameras throughout the eclipse, showing the Sun as it disappears behind the Moon, revealing a glowing halo around the lunar disk.

I was telling folks at the Artemis 2 launch that as a Canadian teen in the 1990s, it was harder to find the space community. Look what's possible today. I'm glad we're finally sharing these stories widely, in mainstream media. Let's keep going.

I was there! My last and third shuttle launch (and fourth shuttle mission overall, including STS-115 that rolled back and forth to the pad when I was on site.)
