Tomorrow I go in for colon cancer surgery. 15 years ago, I also had colon cancer. It's back & this time the mass is bigger & in a difficult area. My dad had cc, my mom had cc, my uncles had cc. May we suspect genetic? A reminder to all to get a colonoscopy if you're at all in a danger zone. I prob waited a little too long for mine this time. I am in a good place mentally, CT scans are otherwise clear, & I am confident in my surgeon and my God who has seen me through a lot. incl the #RocketBoys, @VTEngineering school & @VTCorpsofCadets, Vietnam War, decom sickness, @NASA career, prodigious writing career, etc all told in my latest memoir. I've had a good life & I am not afraid. I will be back, God willing, and if not, please be proud of who you, stand up for what you believe, keep your families together, and trust in God but rely on yourselves.
