@AntiTrumpCanada @MikeSington @PitneyApril Trump is in such decline. The next thing to watch for is him physically attacking people in the White House.

@MikeSington @PitneyApril This is the same guy who on Feb 24, 2025, said in an interview that the Trump administration was already “in the midst of a collapse” and that it would fall apart within 30 days.

If you're tweeting today about Mark Carney "getting a raise" and fail to mention Pierre Poilievre's and every single CPC MPs raise as well you might be a bit disingenuous.
They're all getting a raise. You're free to hate that idea, but saying "Carney gets a raise" like it's just him is deception.
Poilievre, being a career politician, given his salary, benefits, and pension, which be one of the most expensive politicians in Canadian History.
In fact, costing more than many Prime Ministers.

@LakotaMan1 Listening to the Supreme Court yesterday...did not hear the government offer a full throated "of course they are" when asked about Native citizenship. Stunning.

@WeatherProf So, when they sent this rocket up in space yesterday, do they calculate its path to avoid all these items, or is it just luck?

Pretty wild. The first image represents objects in Earth’s orbit at the end of the 1950s. The second is Earth’s orbit now. theguardian.com/science/ng-int…

@davidfrum Agreed. All those things. I also believe that he is so impaired that he cannot filter ideas he hears. Which is a little different from just not wanting to hear ideas that do not protect him. Always dangerous, but now is next level. He may start to harm staff. In my opinion.

Trump is being undone because he can't wrap his mind around the hard fact: America may have its own oil, but it cannot have its own oil price. Latest in @theatlantic theatlantic.com/ideas/2026/04/…

Earlier tonight I threw on my N95 and went to go see Slavoj Žižek speak. I don't agree with a lot of his ideas, but I've been a fan for a long time because I find them interesting.
One of them in particular feels deeply relevant to the current situation with Long COVID: what Žižek calls Cynical Ideology. As he would summarize it, "they know very well what they are doing, but still, they are doing it"
The government isn't operating under the old model of ideology - it is not denying Long COVID exists. Even the people directly responsible for this mess, such as Jay Bhattacharya, acknowledge it openly. They express concern, they fund RECOVER, they post awareness infographics, and then....they do absolutely nothing that would actually change outcomes.
The Minnesota DoH post that I flagged before is a perfect example. The people who wrote it probably genuinely believe they're helping. They're aware that Long COVID is real and serious. They acknowledge the history of post-viral illness. And yet, the net effect of their acknowledgment is to normalize the present inaction. The awareness IS the ideology. It structures reality in a way that makes the current state of affairs feel like progress rather than abandonment.
Žižek argues that modern ideology doesn't work by lying to you. Instead, it works by telling you the truth in a way that ensures nothing changes. The acknowledgment almost paradoxically becomes the control mechanism.
How to break through this? Not sure yet.

I would not unmask in a public indoor space voluntarily until there are compelling data in favor of more enduring vaccines, compelling treatments, or data suggesting Long COVID stops becoming a problem after some number of vaccinations. None of that is coming any time soon.
A relative lull is a better time to engage in necessary unmasked activities, like dental visits, ENT exams, colonoscopies, surgeries, etc.
