We can ban slaughtering cows, pigs, and chickens the same way we ban the slaughter of dogs, cats, and horses.
The Wild Beauty Foundation@wildbeautyorg

Momentum continues to build for the SAFE Act. We applaud @SenMcCormickPA and @AnaliliaForNJ for joining the growing bipartisan effort to end horse slaughter and the export of American horses into the slaughter pipeline. Alongside your voices, letters, and calls, the Wild Beauty Foundation and our coalition partners traveled to Washington, D.C. during Lost Horses fly-ins to meet with Members of Congress and their staff, advocating for and advancing these critical protections. Every new champion in Congress represents another voice standing against the shipment of tens of thousands of American horses across our borders each year, into the darkness of a broken system that has operated for far too long. Their support for the stand-alone SAFE Act also sends an important message as anti-slaughter language advances through the surface transportation reauthorization process. As the legislation we have fought for moves toward consideration on the House floor, it is essential that these protections remain intact. This is an essential moment to keep the pressure on. Please make the call, send a letter in moments through losthorses.org, share this message, and tag your favorite animal-loving celebrities, media outlets, and lawmakers. Thank you for being part of this journey, and for standing with The Lost Horses. #SAFEAct #TheLostHorses #WildBeautyFoundation

We're sometimes told that without killing off a bunch of wild animals, which IP28 would prohibit in Oregon, how else can we manage the spread of disease? If we're genuinely interested in helping wild animal welfare, we have non-lethal options. worksinprogress.co/issue/why-we-s…

If they were a dog, we'd call this abuse. IP28 moves to protect all animals in Oregon from intentional injury and killing, not just our companion animals.

Sometimes people cremate an animal's body after they are shot and killed, other times people eat their body after they are shot and killed. Why is the death of one mourned and the other celebrated? Let's treat both like the loss of life that they are. theguardian.com/us-news/2026/j…

@WashCo_OR @GuntherEagleman We're trying to protect animals from being injured, killed, masturbated, and forcibly impregnated. Cultures always shift over time, and we believe this would represent a shift towards greater compassion.

So why are you trying to ruin Oregon‘s historical culture? We have two main dairy farms that would be affected by this initiative #UmpquaDairy & #TillamookFarm. It would also increase the cost in eggs and dairy. How do you expect people to manage the population of rodents in Oregon? Please explain yourself! Are you even from Oregon!

🚨 Oregon Democrats are actually trying to BAN hunting and fishing. If this insane proposal passes, it would criminalize killing animals for food, hunting, fishing, or even research. These clowns want to turn Oregon into some vegan utopia where you can’t feed your family the way humans have for centuries. After letting cities turn into homeless camps and crime zones, now they’re coming for rural Americans way of life. This is peak out-of-touch leftist nonsense.

@No_Mo_Diversity @GuntherEagleman This actually does propose a ban on killing animals, including in slaughterhouses. The coverage is a bit misleading since it doesn't just ban killing animals in the wild.

@GuntherEagleman If they were consistent , they would ban all meat-eating, but they won't do that. They love their pizzas. Hunting with a gun is the most ethical way to get meat. Those animals had a normal life.

@GuntherEagleman I would sign that petition if I lived there. Excellent. We need to stop victimizing others and being racist (caring only about the "human race.")

Has the world (or at least Oregon) gone mad? If animal agriculture doesn’t get legal exemptions from animal cruelty and bestiality laws it won’t be able to continue! 🤯 Do you really want a world without slaughterhouses? 😡

Many don't know, but we're 4th-gen Oregonians--& since 1981, our family has peacefully farmed tens of thousands of dogs for meat. Yet Initiative Petition 28 is threatening our very livelihood. #noip28

"Abuse one animal, and you can be charged with a felony; abuse a million, and you have a business model." The animal exploitation industries are exempt from our cruelty laws. It's time we remove those exemptions. #yesonip3 nytimes.com/2023/04/15/opi…

Abolishing the system of killing animals is exactly what our campaign is trying to do in Oregon with IP28. If we were killing our companion animals, we'd call it abuse. Let's consider it abuse even when we're talking about pigs, cows, primates, elk, and all other animals.

The way we torture pigs is a sin. We can afford to pay a little more for one kind of food in order to not torture hundreds of millions of these poor animals. noahpinion.blog/p/the-way-we-t…

@rude_smoochie If IP28 passed, you could still catch a mouse in a non-lethal mouse trap (which have existed since the 1800s) and you can still "keep" farmed animals, you just couldn't kill them.

Seems like Full blown WOKE. Don’t let this pass! New ballot initiative in Oregon called ‘Initiative Petition 28, the PEACE Act, will make it illegal to hunt, fish or raise animals, even if it’s on your own land

@TonyAielloJr IP28 has actually not yet qualified. Signature verification will not happen until mid to late July, because we haven't submitted enough signatures yet. The submission deadline is July 2nd. Happy to explain more about the process if you're interested.

Oregon: IP-28 will be on November’s Ballot. Our predecessors would be disgusted with what we’ve become. The education campaign needs to RAMP UP! KoTax avoided appearing next to Measure 120… but now she has to appear next to the diseased spawn of her left wing lunacy! IP-28.
