@tycarterart Hi Ty, was inspired by your concept art, the last week in '24, and started to making it into a little animation in Blender. The idea I had was it could be lots of time slices of a couple over their relationship. I got as far as doing 2 shots. not sure when/if ill finish it.

@allsoppja @tuomaskorpi Yes! The water is made from a mix of geo nodes and shader nodes. They communicate with each other, eg I calc the curving wave tip in the geo nodes and pass that to the shader nodes to do the foam at the tip. Blender is super intuitive I love it.

Made this short clip in #blender based on an illustration by @tuomaskorpi. The ocean is built using #geometrynodes.

original illustration is soooo good - didn't achieve a fraction of the quality - but it was a useful process as way to learn Blender

Once I got passed learning the slightly unusual UX, I found the geometry nodes, grease pencil, shader editor etc to be so intuitive!

@godsgreg twitter.com/16bitsperpx/st… I did a similar thing on "Life In VR" - to increase the number of Krill - I made little groups where I baked their pivots into the vert color so I could animate them and make them disperse

So, another shader with animations done with math! This one didn't make it to the game, but I still like it. #VFX #madewithunity How I made it: I wrote a script to merge the coins into a single mesh with their pivots baked on the vertex color (in Unity)...

@JasperDevYT Flipbooks work well on mob, more expensive features like volumetrics and live I'll need to do some profiling to get a more precise answer
