@statcenter @johnhollinger i’m guessing he saw a misquoted stat online and ran with it? a travel or a backcourt vio isn’t a foul it’s a turnover, shai’s been called for some push offs here and there, he just understands the rules are as long as the arm doesn’t make a full and complete extension it’s legal

@AndrewDBailey andy truthfully most thunder fans don’t care, if you look at some of the fouls they were complaining about today like hart slapped shai on the arm and got shocked it was a foul. when a team is constantly turning you over ur gonna complain, especially when you keep losing to them

Thunder fans are understandably outraged by their team’s reputation, but it’s hard to imagine the Thunder’s long-term legacy being anything but this. Every time they’re on national TV, this is the discussion. Several opposing coaches have given their version of the rant below. OKC is very good. Probably going to win a second straight title. SGA is probably going to win a second straight MVP. But they are a truly difficult viewing experience.

I would be very content with Shai sitting tonight He needs to play 2 more games to be award eligible, we have 7 remaining Half the Pistons main rotation is out or doubtful Let Dub and Ajay spread their wings a little bit more and I am more than confident they can take care of the Jenkins, Huerter, Levert, Holland, Reed version of the Pistons That and after the past couple of games it would probably do Shai some good to get some rest ahead of the Lakers game on Thursday

@TPhaneuf @AndrewDBailey The entire point of it is to keep workloads lower lol. Which would mean stars playing 30-32 instead of the 33-36 they currently play. It isn't drastic, but not a single player in the league avgs a point per minute. Luka probably closest at 36 min and 33.6pts

I hate reducing the games from 48 minutes to 40* more than I hate reducing the season from 82 games to whatever (and I hate that a lot). The NBA could easily fit most 48-minute games into a two-hour broadcast window with some obvious tweaks. Start games on time, slash the number of team-called timeouts, send all reviews the replay center, where an off-site official has 30 seconds to make the call and cut halftime to 10 minutes. Most people aren’t in on this one, but the Elam ending would help too. *Going from 48 minutes to 40 has far too severe implications for league history.

Make the games 40 minutes. 8 x 82 / 48 =13.667 That’s the equivalent number of games you would reduce the schedule by. Without breaking arena leases. Works for college. Works for international. Works for the WNBA. AND. If you looking at tv and streaming ratings, the less the actual playing time for a televised game, the bigger the ratings. Ie, the less time fans have to focus on a game, the more they enjoy watching it on tv

Like Pat was a top 5 QB ever off rip lmao way more tedious and annoying cause the bar was so high and the players in the way were gods (he’s somehow usurped all expectations regardless). Shai was more gradual I had to argue in his favor against Dejounte Murray to Donovan Mitchell to Tatum to Jokic and so on different steps.
