Naomi Cunningham has represented gender-critical clients, to date, in multiple tribunals using accurate sex pronouns, without judicial rebuke. In the Sandie Peggie case last year, even Judge Kemp allowed Sandie’s team to do exactly that, as sex was material to the claim. Today, it is disappointing to observe that a different judge has directed Naomi to use “they/them” for a claimant with a GRC in the SEEN v Defra case. This is surely compelled speech: forcing Naomi to affirm a belief she rejects in open court. Gender-critical belief is protected. Accurate language on material facts (sex) is core to justice, not “harassment.” Courts should not be policing pronouns to favour one ideology. Plus what about ECHR Articles 9 and 10? Naomi will, no doubt, have plenty to say about all of this in due course, having recently written an article about the interrelationship between pronouns and their Equal Treatment Bench Book. outertemple.com/wp-content/upl…

@sharrond62 @EtienneTheWolf A constituent who works for the NHS has recently had to participate in online training which included *offering cervical smears to biological men*. If anyone born male believes they have ever had, or will ever grow, a cervix, they need serious help.

9000 GIDS patients 2000 given puberty blockers yet when these clinics were asked for the data & follow up info they refused to supply it. This is a scandal of epic malpractice proportions. It’s why the Tavistock was closed down after whistleblowers spoke out. Don’t do new experiments, find that data

The Secretary of State for Health just left the chamber as Rebecca Paul was speaking about vulnerable children being given puberty blockers. The contempt of that man for this issue and any concerns is just breath-taking.

@jules20thC @stuey_beef @RosieDuffield1 Yes there was! She was minister for women. She was instrumental in many things including class review, planning regulations re gender neutral toilets, single sex wards in NHS. She’s been entirely consistent and I love her for it

Badenoch has chosen her ground carefully. She’s not trying to re‑write Cass or reopen routine prescribing; she’s going straight at the weakest point: an experimental protocol that makes participation the only NHS route to blockers and which has already been paused once for safety concerns. By forcing a Commons vote, she drags Labour MPs into the open on a question most of them would rather hide from their constituents: are you willing to vote, on the record, for giving puberty‑suppressing drugs to 11‑ to 15‑year‑olds in a trial your own independent reviewer describes as ethically and evidentially fraught? Her rhetoric – “no child is born in the wrong body”, “children must never be used as test subjects due to pressure from trans‑activists and bureaucrats” – is calibrated to align with Cass’s concerns while painting Streeting as captured by a lobby. Labour has left such a vacuum of moral clarity that the Tory leader can now cast herself as the defender of basic medical ethics and childhood, and that will resonate far beyond the traditional Tory base.

While everyone was concentrating on the drama and chaos in Number 10, news quietly slipped out that the puberty blockers trial will go ahead. Clinical trials in children and babies can be very helpful in improving treatments when they’re done properly. This one will provide hundreds of children with powerful drugs that may cause them irreversible harm. Despite many of them having symptoms of distress which are likely to be temporary.

A minimum age of 11 and 12 for girls and boys respectively for puberty blockers. No child can consent to the life long impact on their health, sexual function and fertility from these drugs. @AndyBurnhamGM Please, please put a stop to this dangerous nonsense.

NEW: While the whole world is focused is on who will be our next Prime Minister, it’s quietly confirmed that the NHS-backed Pathways puberty blocker trial has bee reapproved, with some small changes. A minimum age of entry of 11 for girls and 12 for boys… gov.uk/government/new…

Yesterday, the latest Secretary of State for Health confirmed he will leave a legacy in his short time in post - the trial of drugs, previously banned by the last Government, on children as young as 11. He is "following clinical advice", yet dozens of clinicians oppose this.
