I park on the first floor of the Tundra garage for @HoustonRockets games and enter on the third floor sky-bridge. As I walked to the escalators tonight I noticed a full backpack in the trash can in front of the elevators on the first floor. Probably nothing but in this moment of heightened threats of terror I decide to go tell @houstonpolice officer manning the crosswalk. He says someone probably threw it away. Okay. I go up the escalator. I see a @HCSOTexas Deputy on the second floor. “I don’t check that.” Why are we, the season tickets holders, paying a legion of security and going through all the security if they cannot check something incredibly simple for safety? I get it’s likely nothing but why not do the job? Sincerely, An ex-cop who worked with a bunch of officers who would have done the job without hesitation 26 years ago.
