Your homework this weekend, should you chose to accept it:
1) scan for the top 10% RS stocks on a 1, 3, and 6 month that are within 10-15% of recent highs.
2) Go through all of the charts and flag all the ones that are pulled back in the vicinity of their 10/20 EMA. Use the daily or weekly or a combination of the two to identify and flag stocks that are in a pullback or consolidation.
3) Make a mental note of the groups/sectors/themes that show up in the greatest numbers.
4) Whittle the flagged items down to those that an orderly, constructive consolidation where the volatility is contracting, the stock is building higher lows, and getting tight. Could be two days, could be 6 or 7; 3-5 days is just a general rule of thumb to help you avoid chasing shit that hasn't consolidated long enough. To be clear, I'm talking about the most recent contraction is 3-5 days. The overall pullback or pattern might be several weeks long. I'm not talking about looking for 3-5 day bases. There is a clear difference. If there is a clear group theme, this is your priority area.
5) Identify the pivot or breakout point where the stock would have to breakout of to trigger you into the trade. Typically, this will be highest points of the 3-5 day tight range.
6) At a minimum, make sure that the group/sector you're trading is in an uptrend - 10 over 20 and both trending up on the group chart. Preferably, you want the major indices to be in an uptrend as well. $QQQ for tech and $SPY for consumer/stuff stocks.
7) Buy stocks breaking out on strong relative volume on a stock by stock basis. Don't predict which ones will breakout. Many never will. Don't go crazy and buy 10 stocks in a day, even if they are all breaking out. If there are 10 breaking out, go with the highest ADR, strongest group, strongest volume, best setup. I know, subjective af, but trust me, don't try to buy everything on one day. There will be more setups.
8) Sell 1/3 to 1/2 of your position after 3-5 days or once up 2R or even use a close below the 20EMA on the hourly. Trail the rest with the 10 or 20 EMA, depending on your preferences and ability to hold. The main exception is a climax run up that stretches the stock far above the MAs. In this case, use the 5 EMA, bar-by-bar lows, or switch to the 20EMA on the hourly.

🚨Here’s the much requested Chartink scan for detecting Pocket Pivots.
These are depicted as blue bars in the Simple Volume script for Tradingview.
.
.
What’s a Pocket Pivot?
Pocket Pivot Volume (PPV) is an up-day volume which is greater than any down-day volume of the last 10 trading days.
To the best of my knowledge, there's no accurate Chartink scan for pocket pivots in the public library.
What does this script help with?
⦿ It will identify all the stocks having PPVs, which can give a head start for accumulating a stock within its base formation at a lower-risk price point. Invariably, almost every breakout stock will give PPV at some state of its base formation, or at the pivot point breakout day itself. One can make a cumulative watchlist of the names giving PPVs daily, & act on them when the time comes.
.
.
⦿ At the bottom of the Chartink scan page, you can see a backtest graph that displays the number of pocket pivot names in the scan for each day. This count of Pocket Pivots can also be viewed as an indicator of the market breadth. Lesser the count, weaker the breadth, greater tha count, stronger the breadth.
.
.
What does this script not help with?
Just because it's a PPV doesn't mean that its buyable today. The context is what's most important. The stock's price cycle, risk reward at the buy point, as well as the general market condition must be conducive.
Options to note
The lowest 2 sub-sets in the scan are optional. the first one is for liquidity, & the second one improves the quality of names scanned. Feel free to modify them as per your requirements, but don't change anything above them.

Guidelines - All these 18 stocks have come into my radar recently and let me present you with a single screenshot providing a holistic view of all the stocks from a key fundamental analysis with important KPI’s.
Rules ( ideal but can be little flexible in terms of ROE, ROCE, p/book)
1. PE < industry PE
2. PEG < 1
3. ROE > 20
4. ROCE > 20
5. Debt / equity < 1
6. CMP / book value < 1
7. Last 3 yes sales and profit growth +ve
8. Last quarter sales and profit +ve
9. EV / EBITDA < 10
10. FII and DII participation
11. Last 5 yrs cash flow +ve
Cross-correlation
With this approach, I understand most of the companies cannot satisfy all the criteria but it makes easy for us to filter out and fine tune the list to narrow down to the refined list.
This is the first step in shortlisting the stocks and then it had to be cross-correlated with the detailed analysis on the balance sheets, P&L, OP ratios, business, management, guidance and finally doing all this will really help you build conviction to invest and stay invested for longer term 👍
Please make use of this content to begin your fundamental analysis of any company and you will see a natural progression within you in terms of knowledge and skill set. Once you practice this process day in day out, you will be on your own to achieve your goals ✅✌️
Does this sound to be a rocket science now? Keep it simple in markets and it works out big time 👍
