Heritability of adipose ACE2 expression levels was 30% in TwinsUK. Despite this heritability and our meta-analysis sample size, we did not identify cis- or trans-eQTLs for adipose ACE2 expression 4/4

Adipose ACE2 expression was associated with the estimated cell type content of biopsies; positively correlated with proportion of microvascular endothelial cells (known to express ACE2 in other cardiovascular tissues) and negatively correlated with proportion of macrophages 3/4
