@relizarov That is the only true way of using it. Otherwise you degrade faster than AI "helps" you.

One of the most powerful use cases for AI is learning. Go beyond “help me do this” and ask it to explain how and why things work, explore alternative solutions, and point you toward ideas you didn’t even know to look for.

Turns out the path to disaster is simple: humans handing bots admin privileges over every computer-controllable thing, because it feels like progress.

this is a catastrophe. StackOverflow provided data to LLMs, LLMs replaced StackOverflow, and now no new Q&A hub exists to provide fresh data. it’s a self-undermining causal loop, like mold growing on food, consuming it, and dying once the food is gone.

Do not argue with AI shills. Their goal is to sell their useless crap by preying on incompetence and insecurity. They do not want to make the world better. They are actively making it worse and do no deserve to be argued with in a good faith. Mockery is all they deserve.

BMW will make it harder to repair their cars "illegally"- The company has introduced patented screws with a logo-shaped head, which are currently only available to official dealers. These fasteners cannot be removed with standard keys, which could make independent repair and maintenance impossible in unofficial garages. The patent will affect interior components and important assemblies - seats and body connections.

You tell the same about movies. Try to recall the moment you watched 1st season of Black Mirror. It was wow fantastic... and the last season? Personally for me it felt - wow reality...

Hmm. My top literature author is Hugh Howey and The Silo series. :D I couldn't wait for apple tv... All trilogy in 65h... 11h for longest reading day. Shockingly all dystopia and sci-fi books sound very probable and realistic nowadays.

My ex-ex-ex-ex-ex company hired a dev. It was long before tailwind. His first commit was looking same way and I asked: Hey buddy why did you do it this way? And he was like: Which way? And I said: Okay, bro you are fired. I don't need you in my team. :D :D :D

We keep getting offers to run Ai clusters - GB10s, Mac Studios, etc. It's tempting, because I love hardware, but I keep saying no. I've already got a Mac w/ 128GB. As far as I can tell, the ONLY benefit of clustering multiple machines together seems to be the ability to run a larger model, albeit quite slowly. Yawn. I don't know how to make an episode about how running a big model slowly at home for ten thousand dollars into compelling content. What the heck would you do with four 128GB Macs if you had them besides pose with them? And this guy has five!

Competitive programming (ICPC/Codeforces/etc., even LeetCode) is controversial. Some people despise it, while others relentlessly hunt for top talent from competitions. There’s such polarity in opinions largely because people misunderstand the value it can bring to industry. 🧵

I genuinely don’t understand who uses GitHub Desktop. All you need to use git efficiently is just these 28 commands: git clone git log git status git add . git add git diff git commit -m "Short description" git commit -am "Short description" git commit -a --amend git push git push -u origin chshersh/branch-name git switch chshersh/branch-name git switch -c chshersh/branch-name git branch -D chshersh/branch-name git pull --ff-only origin git fetch origin main git reset --hard origin/main git checkout -- . git rebase origin/main git rebase -i HEAD~ git rebase --onto git cherry-pick git stash git stash pop git stash list git remote add upstream git bisect git reflog
Rhys@RhysSullivan

I genuinely believe GitHub desktop is the best Git client for most people The design is simple but it's excellent for day to day work of swapping branches, cherry picking, undoing commits, stashing, previewing PRs - one of their best products
