I don't disagree with you in the slightest (apart from devs who just proved they've been listening the whole time). But they created a world we love to be in, that we carried through all the shit bc we love it. And we're absolutely in the right to be pissed about the decisions being made, and voting with our wallet is the best way to show them how bad they fucked up through all the decisions being made. From bungie leadership mismanaging the company, to sony refusing to listen to people telling them they want this game to continue, they can all get fucked.

Former Bungie Destiny CM just said the quiet part out loud: SUPPORTING MARATHON IS YHE BEST SHOT AT KEEPING BUNGIE AND FUTURE PROJECTS ALIVE [Destiny 3] RIGHT NOW. “Half the community is going to hate me for saying this, but the only way to keep Bungie alive right now is to support Marathon.” Please read her thread but I’ll summarize below. She immediately cleared up that Marathon was never designed to pull Destiny numbers. Marathon is an extraction shooter in the Tarkov/Arc Raiders genre, a completely different target audience with some natural overlap from the huge Destiny player base. Expecting it to perform like a live-service looter-shooter is missing the point entirely. Liana pushed back on the “just let Bungie die” takes and the “I’m never touching Marathon” crowd. She reminded everyone that there are real developers behind the name, passionate people who didn’t make the big corporate decisions. She talked about the nuance of the acquisition, how Bungie’s value to Sony isn’t only Marathon, and how the studio could potentially shift into more of an expertise/service role across Sony if needed.
