@MorriganFaire@Malcolm_Pal9 "Egypt, Transjordan, syria, lebanon & Iraq stated their military objective was to intervene on behalf of the Palestinian Arabs. They aimed to prevent the displacement of the Arab population and assist local militias in halting the establishment of a Jewish state."
@markjohnconley@Malcolm_Pal9 Israel was necessary because Arabs had been attacking Jews and treating them as subordinate there for centuries. The Arab leaders rejected the opportunity for their own state in 1947. They then declared war and lost and have kept on losing since. Everything is their own fault.
@MorriganFaire@Malcolm_Pal9 "The Arab nations fundamentally rejected the United Nations' 1947 Res. 181(II), which sought to divide the British Mandate of Palestine into separate Jewish and Arab states. They argued that the plan was an infringement on the rights of the Arab majority living in the territory"
@MorriganFaire@Malcolm_Pal9 '47 partition plan UNGA 181(II) suggested 55% of the Palestine mandate to be given to 30% of the population, the zionists. of course, they didn't agree, ffs
@MorriganFaire@Malcolm_Pal9 2/ "... As early Zionist immigration began, early tensions were situational. Arab notables and peasants raised concerns over land purchases and immigration, but relations on the ground often included mutual assistance."
@MorriganFaire@Malcolm_Pal9 1/ "AI OVERVIEW Late 19th Century Ottoman PeriodCoexistence & Integration: Before the 1880s, the tiny, long-established Jewish communities lived relatively integrated lives within the broader, majority-Arab society.Emergence of Tensions: ..."
If @SenatorWong used the same evidentiary standards she used to expel the Iranian ambassador, this ugly clown would have been long gone and not spouting his BS at the NPC.

@DaniMayakovski in 2000 my wife and I and many other tourists to tasmania were blocked by kerry packer security from proceeding to wineglass bay ! on public land.
kerry had had his yacht parked in the bay and apparently wanted the beach to himself

@ZachLowy have watched football (soccer) since the 60's and i definitely think the offside rule sucks where the ball has contacted an opposition player before the goalscorer touches the ball when he is most definitely at least two opposition players between him and the goal.
I desperately need people who only watch football every 4 years to stop suggesting rule changes.
Yes, the offsides rule makes sense. No, there should not be unlimited substitutions. Yes, a penalty shootout is the best way to settle a draw.
The world’s biggest sport doesn’t need your alterations.
"Mission Accomplished," Mr. Mullin.
You also accomplished something else: proving to the world that you have no business hosting an international tournament. Your conduct has been a masterclass for how to squander the dignity that comes with being a host.
