Morgan Rogers is only really good for his final ball. He’s not a devastating carrier or anything between the box, in fact he gets dispossessed a ton, but he does have that X-factor to win you games in the crunch moments. His carrying numbers are devastating in the final 3rd. 0.75 of his carries end in a shot, 0.39 in a chance (Per 90). But for Chelsea this doesn’t make much sense considering Palmer produces near identical numbers in the same zones as Rogers (0.76 & 0.57 in an unfit season for him). My advice would be to stay well away from this player. For a ≈ £50m fee he might as well be worth it. His transfer also wouldn’t make sense from a dynamics perspective, as he would require an overlapping LB which we do not have nor look like addressing in the summer if the reports are anything to go by. It would be a reactionary signing from the directors and board, in attempts to try and prove some kind of point to the supporters and media through buying an expensive, well-renowned, “proven premier league experienced” player, beyond proper footballing intentions.
