So many dreams will come true on NFL Draft Night, especially for those college football players going to the next level after years of work. But they aren't the only ones. There's one family whose dream will come true in a very special way — honoring our Nation's fallen. On April 23rd, the family of U.S. Army Major Paul C. Voelke — a lifelong @Giants fan, West Point graduate, and infantry officer who deployed five times to Kosovo, Iraq, and Afghanistan — will walk onto the NFL Draft stage to announce the Giants’ first‑round pick. Major Voelke was killed in Afghanistan in 2012. He never came home to watch another Giants game with his family, but he did leave them his passion, pride, and unwavering love for the team. His widow, Traci Voelke, and their sons, will stand under the bright lights to speak the name of a draft pick in honor of the hero whose name they speak every day. For them, this moment is not about football. It’s about a family who has carried the weight of loss with courage and grace for 14 years — and who has continued to serve other survivors through @TAPSorg ever since. Millions will watch the #NFLDraft but only a few will understand the depth of what this family is carrying onto that stage. If you’re a reporter interested in covering this powerful story (one that blends service, sacrifice, sports, and the enduring strength of a Gold Star family) shoot me a DM. We're proud to serve as TAPS' agency and honored to tell this story. #PRwithAPurpose

The total overall number decreased, a drop that coincides with smaller overall force numbers. militarytimes.com/news/your-mili…
