Over Memorial Day weekend, senior military leaders and special guests attended @TAPSorg's 32nd annual grand banquet in Arlington, Va. Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors provides care and resources to anyone grieving the loss of a service member or veteran.
Erik Slavin, editor in chief of Stars and Stripes, served as master of ceremonies for the event. Speakers included vice chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Marine Gen. Christopher Mahoney, chef @RobertIrvine, actor @robertpatrickT2 and TAPS president Bonnie Carroll.

Last week, Stars and Stripes hosted Rooted in Resilience, The Sacrifices of Military Children.
Speakers included Fleet Master Chief David Isom (SEAC), Major General Antoinette Gant (Commander MDW), and Congressman @DonJBacon (R-NE).
Organizations recognized for their work with veterans and military families included: @BlueStarFamily, @military_family, @OpGratitude, @TAPSorg and @USYoungMarines.

The following statement was issued today on behalf of the family of Jason Collins:
“We are heartbroken to share that Jason Collins, our beloved husband, son, brother and uncle, has died after a valiant fight with glioblastoma. Jason changed lives in unexpected ways and was an inspiration to all who knew him and to those who admired him from afar. We are grateful for the outpouring of love and prayers over the past eight months and for the exceptional medical care Jason received from his doctors and nurses. Our family will miss him dearly.”
