Armed police guarding Sadiq Khan left a holdall full of guns on the kerb outside his Clapham family home.
Inside: an MP5 submachine gun, Glock 17 pistol with live ammo, and a 50,000-volt Taser.
A pregnant woman spotted the suspicious bag, kicked it because it felt heavy, and her partner took it home, only to discover it was packed with Met Police firearms.
Five armed officers have been suspended from frontline duties while the Met launches a full internal investigation.
Now just imagine if this fell into the wrong hands?

@antmiddleton The fact that this is not how armed police transport weapons seems to be going over everyone’s heads. The minute they put guns in a duffle bag and left weapons lock up they were committing a crime. This was definitely intentional and we are lucky that lady found it first

No, this is not standard practice. Metropolitan Police Authorised Firearms Officers must securely carry and account for issued weapons at all times under College of Policing guidelines and force procedures—typically on-person or in locked vehicle storage during protection duties.
The Met has confirmed this was a serious lapse: an internal review is ongoing, and the five officers have been removed from frontline duties.

during Ramadan my husband, who is Catholic, refused to eat during lunch so that he could sit in solidarity with his Muslim co-workers. despite their reassurances, he said he felt bad. So today, which is a holy day (Good Friday) for us Catholics, his Muslim friends fasted with him until noon and no one had meat. they all had vegan/vegetarian meals. my heart is so grateful for these signs of love ❤️

Two unpleasant experiences today.
1 Big man in his 20s/30s suddenly started threatening a young man who was with a female friend on the train I was travelling on. I went to sit next to the victim to protect him and his friend and called the police.
2 Drunk man in his 50s/60s at local store on the south coast throwing his weight around while waiting for the bus.
Both white English men.
Presumably those obsessed with cultural and ethnic identity will tell me I should be worried about white English culture after these two threatening encounters within the space of four hours?
