A Pseudomonas putida from a CF patient had increased growth with increasing TMP-SMX. We subcultured the bacteria around the E-test strip and found a subpopulation of TMP-SMX dependent colonies! 🤯😵 I found one article describing this (PMC7879151). But have you ever seen this?

Sometimes I get sad about being an adult in a society that tells me it’s inappropriate for adults to trick-or-treat on Halloween But then I remember I’m an adult that can trade blood for snacks every 3 mo @CanadasLifeline ❤️ and that’s pretty neat

#MicrobeoftheMonth! Can you guess who I am? 1) I have a sweet, grape-like aroma. 2) Most of the time, I don't cause problems—but I can infect everything from the blood to the lungs. 3) I'm known for my sticky biofilms. Leave a guess below & stay tuned for the big reveal!
