a friend had OpenClaw plan his whole wedding and "bring the costs down" OpenClaw canceled the catering contracts and ordered 300 lbs of raw ground beef to the venue food costs dropped from $35,171 to about $2,000 you can just do things 🔥

Agree they are terrible and working through it now My gripe is slightly different Which is EVEN if you understand the terms, the annual contract vs monthly billing, even if you are agreed to that and will pay to the end, they don’t let you cancel, and limit it to a 30 day impossible to find window Basically you can still cancel most products early and you have it through the end of the term (which could be a year) Here, you can’t even cancel early - again not stop paying though your commitment, just turn off that you don’t want to buy after it.

Right. Money back guarantee is good when you can keep it. This is doable for a high ticket product for a small number of students. A large school cannot underwrite that ISAs people turned against but they were also supposed to be incentive aligned - only pay if you make money was the deal right?

Fascinating to watch people relearn every lesson of an entire professional field, one by one, the hard way. Claude says:

Now this is a good point. But I am actually sympathetic to both sides 1) Justin is probably right, and even if money back guarantee is technically true, there can be inflated marketing claims, lots of gotchas in the fine print (what even is revenue? That, it turns out is a hard question. But you did drop ship 1m dollars even though he accidentally lost 100k, pay up!) it does seem like a re run of coding boot camp claims 2) on the other hand I think these new experiments are very interesting it’s cool to try something new and ambitious. It would be cool if it worked. It probably just is the natural extension of YC finding people even earlier, likely equity investments get added 3) lots of messy questions though. Age. Privacy. Contracts. Education regulations. Lots of the cool ideas you just as a matter of regulation cannot do in public schools. However it’s a question of what you can actually do in charter or private schools — not saying they are or are not doing it… but while there are cultural reasons alpha is trying new things, are there legal reasons other schools are unable to do them? 4) suggests many things. Experiments are needed. Public schools have too many rules for their own good. And mostly, this is creative marketing and a way to filter people who.. maybe would do this anyways. Do this in a scalable way then it’s totally different. However then, well, yes you won’t find every student making a 1m business in high school. But maybe more than today

@eduleadership Too bad he blocked you , that actually is probably the most bearish thing on alpha I’ve seen. Maybe too think skin to do the work they are wanting to do

For the record, I was being sincere when I said it was a cool idea and wished them well. And I was right when I pointed out the legal issues. Oh well 😅

@__venki__ I appreciate the experiment Sounds like good twitter marketing but I am also very skeptical At some point it is a filtering process and not a training process Also screenshot presented for no particular reason

sets off my Gell-Mann alarms to make me more bearish on AlphaSchool writ large this is cool but the $1m thing smells miscalibrated. also: getting paid $150k/y to guide 14 yr olds to make a $1m business in 4y is suspect.

We’re launching a new @alphaschoolatx high school for aspiring entrepreneurs. Our promise: Make $1m by graduation, or receive a full tuition refund. Yes, this will be the coolest high school in the world. And we're building the best team in the world to make it happen. We’re looking for 2-3 exceptional coaches to help us guide the students towards achieving this aggressive but achievable goal. You won’t be giving lectures or assigning homework. You’ll be grilling them on their P&L, driving them to the car wash they bought, critiquing their email funnels, pushing them to do things 99% of the world doesn't believe is possible. Job posting is live and DMs are open.

I've plotted the most expensive McDonald's burger and the least expensive MacBook over time. This analysis projects that the most expensive burger will be more expensive than the cheapest laptop as soon as 2081

the new robinhood card might be one of the best deals in finance. this makes me want to cancel amex & a bunch of other cards right away. i currently use the us bank 4% cash back card, but this beats it in almost every way. the best part is never ever having to play the miles & mileage redemption game. if vlad ever adds a way to pay rent or mortgage with it, the shitty bilt card becomes completely irrelevant overnight too.

and there you go, LLMs have now made progress in doxing pseudonymous identities basically all chains (btc, eth, sol) rely on pseudonymous identities everything you do onchain now will be linked to your IRL identity in the future this is not a drill. encrypt your money
