I just received this letter from @LAGovJeffLandry @JeffLandry, where he boasts about signing into law "the largest package of bills to stop frivolous lawsuits in Louisiana's history." I'm actually glad to see this package pass as he can now STOP BLAMING ME for high auto insurance rates in Louisiana! And I'm looking forward to my rates going down! Let me know if your rates go down, too!

Remember, NO state in America has ever been able to reduce insurance rates by passing tort reform laws. Good luck!!!

I’m still waiting for the governor to give me the name of one Louisiana automobile insurance company, just one, that agrees to reduce their premiums if any of his tort reform laws pass!! No state in America has ever been able to pass tort reform laws that resulted in a reduction in premiums. Bottom line- they ain’t reducing their premiums!

Louisiana PI law firms advertise their huge wins in auto accident cases, so passing a law making that illegal would be a good start. Many people would never think to sue if they didn’t see Morris Bart on their TV or a billboard everyday. We already have laws against frivolous lawsuits but that doesn’t stop attorneys from pursuing claims against auto insurance companies for the max that the insured pays for. Law firms are why our insurance rates are so high in Louisiana.

@JeffLandry Lawyer advertising in Louisiana is the same as every other state in America! I challenge you to give me the name of one Louisiana automobile insurer who has said they will lower rates if you pass any of these laws!!

We have the same number of accidents in Louisiana as compared to the rest of the country.     We have the same extent of damage to cars, and less serious injuries than the rest of the country.   BUT our residents claim a minor injury in car accidents twice as much as the rest of the country.    This points to a cultural problem that many believe is driven by lawyer advertising!   I am pledging to rein in trial lawyer advertising! It has a cultural effect on our society that is not healthy.
