I agree with those who think we should eat a points deduction & try & keep JB. It would be premature to sell JB with new owners on the horizon & a softening of PSR possible because of City's actions & other clubs facing penalties too. Everton should wait to see how things pan out. Forest & Leicester will likely be in the same boat. (We might not be able to sell Onana in June because he is in the Belgium squad - seems like some kind of rule?) Whilst DCL is really important, if he isn't going to sign a new contract, then we have no choice but to sell him. A sale by June 30th for £25m would produce a reasonable trading profit. Don't forget the profits on player sales we locked in August 2023: Iwobi (I estimate £16m PSR profit), Gray (£7m), Simms (£3m), Samuels (£5m), Cannon (£6m) = £37m So, back of the envelope PSR calc: T/O = £180m (higher league placing) *Less* Wages = £151m (lower after 2023 exits) Opex = £37m Interest = £23m (not related to stadium) Player Amorts = £75m *Add* Profit on player trading before June 2024 sales = £37m Total Loss 2023/2024 = -£69m Prior 3 years PSR Losses: T= £69m T-1 £62.8m T-2 = £3.9m* (*subject to interest revision) =£135.7m. As is, this is a 3pt deduction plus 4-5 pts for a significant breach (remember, has to be below a 9pt deduction for administration). Starting point a 7-8pt deduction. Then add back 1pt for admission upfront & 1-2pts for T-2 and T-1 having already been punished (and making up 49% of the loss) and you are looking at a net 4-5 pt deduction, I think, before June sales. Possible Sale of DCL by June 30th = £25m (profit £25m) brings total loss down to £110m, which would be a 3pt deduction. But deduction maybe as low as 1 POINT for early co-operation & more than 50% of the loss being from T-1 and T-2 which were already punished. This analysis is extrapolated from the IC decision on our 2pt deduction. If it does pan out this way, Everton will have been hit with a THIRD PSR charge in TWO YEARS, whilst building a stadium. City = nil and Chelsea seem to be getting away with any charges by exploiting a loop hole. No independent regulator on the horizon, so I hope Burnham & 17 Labour MPs can take time out of election campaigns to once again lend their support. We need them. #EFC #Everton

🚨BREAKING! - Manchester United are now expecting a deal for Jarrad Branthwaite to be done before June 30th with their being a growing belief that Defender could be on his way to United. Everton are attempting to hold out for a £75M fee (Source - @CBeesleyEcho )

@MXOFO @LNER Context please - was this for a train due to depart within a few hours? As with airlines, it’s pretty common knowledge and practice that anything quoted within 24 hours will likely cost 3-4x the typical rate.

🚨personal news🚨I’ll be leaving the BBC at the end of May. Newsnight in its current format will end then, so most posts will go. I decided not to apply for other BBC jobs. Working there for 35 yrs has been life defining: an eyewitness to history collaborating with such brilliant colleagues. But it’s time for a change

@vinerbrian We have to accept where we are, we have to grow from a low base, we have to accept that it will take a decade or more to crash the top 6, but we have to remember we are Everton, we will never be a championship side, at worst we are perennial survivors, we are Everton. #UTFT #EFC

From some Evertonians I’m hearing: let’s just take it up the tailpipe, go down, refresh, learn how to win again, come back up with momentum. It’s such bollocks. We could be out of the Premier League for years, and not just in the Championship! Have to stay up!

MSTR is a very small position size compared to my BTC position size, because *if* (massive if) you enter the trade at the right price to treasury value (most probably won’t ….relative to just buying BTC), it could outperform but with many other risks. Due to these additional risks, but potential slight upside (*if* you can even get the basis right), the Kelly Criterion would still suggest a pretty small position size based on the math. The reason I am talking so much about this is because I suspect a ton of people have no clue what they’re actually doing and they’re buying it because they see other people doing it. For years I’ve listened to people complain about how hard it is to enter a position in Bitcoin because of the intense volatility. MSTR is even harder…and that vol, is probably only going to get more intense moving forward. For most: Keep it simple, focus on #Bitcoin.
