Easy to spot a yellow car when you are always thinking of a yellow car. Easy to spot opportunity when you are always thinking of opportunity. Easy to spot reasons to be mad when you are always thinking of being mad. You become what you constantly think about. Watch yourself.

The horrible news from Saskatchewan is another reminder of the genocide enacted through the Residential School System. Our thoughts are with Indigenous Peoples & Cowessess First Nation as they mourn the 751 people in unmarked graves at the Marieval Indian Residential School site.

During this pandemic, that has disproportionately killed Black & brown people, we’ve been consistently told “go for a walk!” as a way of maintaining mental health. So what do we say now to this family who was doing just that? Out for their daily walk. Where are we safe?
