Tankevækkende. Amazon gør enheder de solgte for 14 år siden ubrugelige. Jeg tænker ikke det var noget de reklamerede med, da de solgte dem. Vildt det er lovligt.

I’m so upset… My Kindle is fifteen years old. It still works fine, and I want no other. I read a lot, and this is the only e-reader that doesn’t hurt my eyes. None of the new models have a screen that so perfectly mimics paper. And now Amazon is forcing me to buy a new one. 😡 I don’t need a touchscreen or sound, and I definitely don’t want adverts! 🤬 The timing couldn’t be worse either… I can’t afford it right now. ☹️ I guess I won’t be buying more ebooks for a while... I’ll just have to read the ones I already have.

@troyhunt They can't run my password manager but i can type my password. It could be my car, a tv or console. Or maybe a computer i would not trust with my email but maybe login to a not sensitive site.

@troyhunt But is usability not a part of the auth method? It also have issues with devices that cant check email.

@mshdk That’s a separate issue not tied to the auth method, that’s about providing multiple different parties access to the same account. I know what you mean, but that should be solved by inviting other discrete individuals with their own logins to access the same resource.

@mvinaes Ja, men det jeg prøvede (dårligt) at hentyde til er at (ligesom med fattigdom) så har den relative rigdom også stor betydning. Hvis de unge i dag, ikke har råd til/mulighed de ting som kom nemmere til de ældre generationer vil de føle sig fattigere.

@mshdk Det er utvivlsomt færre der får børn og køber hus, men det er samtidig også klart, at folk har langt flere økonomiske ressourcer.

Noget af det “ungdommen” har sværest ved at forstå. Folk var relativt fattige for ganske nyligt!

@cperciva May i ask why you are using pop3 and not a more "modern" protocol like imap?

I wish there was a way of telling Thunderbird "only process N messages and then disconnect". When I've been offline for a while Thunderbird sometimes starts a POP3 connection by issuing 1000+ DELE commands -- and if the connection drops before it issues a QUIT those don't happen.
