NYT just published an op-ed by a fellow at the Foundation for Defense of Democracies, which was founded to "enhance Israel's image in North America." 💢 BREAKING: RT journalist Steve Sweeney, cameraman wounded in near-direct Israeli strike in southern Lebanon
Journalist Steve Sweeney was injured when an Israeli airstrike hit a bridge he was reporting from in southern Lebanon, as he and his cameraman were crossing the area. Video shows the strike impacting the crossing behind Sweeney as he records a report.
Both men are conscious and receiving treatment, with doctors assessing shrapnel injuries, according to footage (see below) and other RT colleagues.
The incident comes a day after Israel said it would target the 18 crossings over the Litani River linking southern Lebanon to the rest of the country. Several bridges have already been destroyed in recent days, with this appearing to be another attack on a key crossing.
