@Nomads4Pritzker He's not supposed to be some great actor. He's merely playing "the host" to the brilliant ensemble around him. And his amateurish acting is actually hilarious because he's essentially one of us, barely keeping it professional.

I’ve been watching old episodes of Seinfeld. Julia Louis-Dreyfus and Jason Alexander deliver masterclass comedic performances episode after episode, while, in counterpoint, Seinfeld and the guy who plays Kramer give (respectively) some of the most wooden and histrionic reads ever conceived.

Waiting to board our flight in Washington and there are 3 Scotland fans in kilts walking past. An American lady says" I love your skirts" "They're nae skirts lassie they're kilts , We're Scots not Trannies" I genuinely Lol #tartanarmy #fifaworldcup @jk_rowling

@never_cursed_88 @jk_rowling Read the time line , most Scots seemed to think its fine. Being Irish we have a common Celtic link and I know what I heard. Now the lads might have been hamming it up a sort of Scots version of Stage Irish but defo legit

@urlofcork @jk_rowling Perhaps something happened but a Scot would probably say they ur'nae as opposed to they're nae, and again, Lassie, doesn't fit the profile of the people you're describing. The quotes seem too stereotypical to be real.

@BBW_BFF Someone said the other day they didn't understand why people liked horror movies. And I said a similar thing. I don't even know if I believe it, but it sounded vaguely logical. I think my own receptivity is more aesthetic, based on the way the genre creates physical sensations.

@flapdoodle91296 @Miss_AshG MJ took the opposite tack for rationalisation: it was all innocence and purity, and if anyone suggested otherwise it was their own corruption and degenerancy, not his. Simple and perhaps unconvincing but potent giving the image of himself he propogated.

Kudos to 60 Minutes Australia for having the guts to give a voice to Michael Jackson’a victims while the rest of the world is worshipping a pedophile

@river_dusty Maybe this is a shrewd tactic from MJ. Happily admit to the sleepovers and act like the world is crazy and degenerate for even having the thought of something beyond that, and basically avoiding the ritualised denial process with the media.

This is after serious allegations that threatened his career. He continues to be open about sleeping in a bed with young boys. Flagrantly. The only obvious explanation for this is pedophilia.

“Michael was being falsely accused” Because he was a GROWN MAN choosing to sleep in a bed with YOUNG boys! Why didn’t he stop after the 1993 allegations? Surely people on his team told him how bad of a look it was! Only a compulsive paraphilia explains this behavior

@BadFilmTakes1 I think i prefer the smaller, naturalistic stuff, meeting with the schoolteacher, giving Willa the letter, listening to the receiver at the end, the gentle moments, it's just such a generous performance.

Tonight, again, enjoyed a couple of episodes of The X-Files written by Vince Gilligan. I watched Season 6, Episode 14 “Monday,” and Season 7, Episode 3 “Hungry.” “Monday” is a time-loop story. When the cause of the loop is finally revealed at the end, it’s quite heartbreaking. “Hungry” is structured like an episode of Columbo, told from the monster’s point of view. The fact that the brain-eater works at a hamburger joint adds a darkly comic touch 🍔.

@TheScoreBoardHQ @TheCinesthetic Actually she was often totally, fanatically illogical in her reasoning, making the most acrobat attempts to avoid the obvious, evidence-based conclusions.

@TheCinesthetic She didn't just stand behind Mulder; she ran circles around him with logic. while the new Hulu reboot is moving forward with fresh faces, Gillian Anderson is staying busy with her first-ever horror lead in Camp Miasma

@XFilesAesthetic It's a really neat, spooky little episode that crackles with sexual tension and teases the unearthing of something large, cavernous, possibly endless. Very good.

@SydSteyerhart The aliens were a metaphor for God..or the unknowable. Why would Coogler reduce it to some racial theory because he's black? Seems like you're racialising it before having seen a frame.

@Glinner I'm a huge X-Files fan and I'm not offended in the least, it's an incredible coup to entice Coogler. What does it matter if there's a black lead? Your argument is predicated on the idea that it's a shameless cash in which is contradicted by the talent involved.
