🚨BIG WIN AGAINST CHILD TRAFFICKERS: The Michigan Supreme Court has ruled that the state is not required to attempt reunification with a parent who trafficked her child. The Michigan Supreme Court overturned a dangerous ruling that had reinstated a mother’s parental rights even after she facilitated her 9 year-old daughter’s rape. Founder & CEO @darcyolsen said, “This is the kind of ruling we need more of. A woman who traffics her own child doesn’t need parenting classes—she needs prison.” Despite clear state and federal law, many states still default to reunifying children with parents who have trafficked or brutally abused them. We stand ready to challenge those failures in the highest courts when necessary.

And this is why parenting on meth is dangerous, if not deadly. ⚠️ Meth alters your brain chemistry - can prevent bonding with your child, make you paranoid - and yes, can create "homicidal ideation" towards your 2 yr old toddler. #nmpol #nmleg #cyfdcrisis #CARAcrisis #drugcrisis

When a 16-year-old dies in CYfD custody and the system hides behind laws to avoid accountability, it’s not confidentiality — it’s complicity. The time for polite reform has passed. @nmchildfirst

“There’s no other way to say it, other than our children are dying here in the state of New Mexico” - Leader @Gail4NM. We have a plan to repeal & replace the CARA Act and fix CYFD’s pattern of self-policed failures to protect our most vulnerable children. krqe.com/news/new-mexic…
