@CreativeNotEvil @ItbFluffy @onyxicca Is the person who can not engage with conceptual points throwing stones? Do you need a doctoral thesis of context? Peudo intellectual is spot one. I never claimed women haven’t been involved or made a claim about the validity of their involvement. You’re fighting strawmen.
English

@noln87 @ItbFluffy @onyxicca You’re the one posting pornographic adds as a counter argument to me saying there were actual gaming adds catered to women, yet you call me pseudo intellectual?
Gods, it’s like talking to a child.
Women have *always* been gamers, right since it was created.
English

If gaming was always a male hobby, then what exactly was I doing for the last 30+ years?
If a man plays video games, it's a hobby. If a woman plays video games, what is it? A job? Community service? Was I performing unauthorized access to joy?
Do you see how goofy you sound?

@CreativeNotEvil @ItbFluffy @onyxicca You are the worst type of pseudo intellectual there is. Admit nothing, deflect everything, make counter accusations. 😂 you point out exceptions and claim the rule. Gaming has been male dominated for the majority of its existence. 🤷♂️
English

@noln87 @ItbFluffy @onyxicca No, it’s called you deliberately missing the point.
I made a counterpoint to the claim that games have always been made ‘by men, for men’. Somehow you decided that this meant I was saying games were never made for men.
English

@Sagedonesaid @StubbyNarwhal @onyxicca You both are kind of right here. Just talking past each other.
English

@StubbyNarwhal @onyxicca Perpetuating this lie does nobody any favors.
English

@StubbyNarwhal @onyxicca It’s always a framing and definition issue. I think what more guys are trying to get at is customer acquisition. AAA studios are desperate to pull the casual mobile phone gamer into a AAA gamer, with little success and a lot of alienation.
English

@onyxicca The market share is actually relatively even. A 55% men to 45% women. I'm sure the genres break down a bit differently. I think dudes are just upset they don't feel like the target audience for their favorite games anymore. Things have shifted a lot over the last 10 years or so.
English

@JohnnyGaming9 @The_Lone_Gamer_ @khaliltooshort That’s a screenshot from an ai overview. Show me the data, show me the methodology.
English

Gaming is a male hobby regardless if women indulge in it.
That’s like saying wrestling isn’t a male sport because a few women also do it

@PaulTassi I think most people genuinely only have 1 gaming console. Whereas people like you and I probably have all of them.
English

It's 2026 and people still think I own a PS5 and nothing else and want it to "win." Quite literally nothing I talk about with Xbox exclusivity or lack thereof affects me personally
Frank@FATE_NYC
@JezCorden @PaulTassi @Forbes “Exclusives for me, but not for thee” is the vibes I get from many of these articles. What works for their preferred platform shouldn’t even be attempted by others, is another. They want Xbox to thrive, but only if their brand gets the games as well.
English

@CreativeNotEvil @ItbFluffy @onyxicca It’s called an illustrative point. The original poster implies that gaming was not a male dominated. You implied males were not the target demographic. You picked a small slice of the past. I did that as well to show the opposite. When you over broaden or over narrow it’s bad.
English

@noln87 @ItbFluffy @onyxicca Do you have anything relevant to say? Because trotting out borderline pornographic ads designed to sell things to slack jawed boys and pedophilic men isn’t the burn you think it is.
English

@_Acecap_ppu @CreativeNotEvil @ItbFluffy @onyxicca Did I say that? Have you ever heard of an illustrative point?
English

@keeperoftheroad @Ashe1133158 @onyxicca Yeah my daughter plays a metric crap ton of games, the trend is slowly changing, None of these studies are wrong on their own terms. The issue is that the headline number gets lifted and applied well beyond the specific methodology that produced it.
English

@noln87 @Ashe1133158 @onyxicca These people can’t handle the truth man. It’s not like anyone is saying there aren’t girls who game. Heck men love it when that happens. It’s just not a reality that gaming targeted women for a long time. Plus sure more women game now more than ever.
English

@Ashe1133158 @keeperoftheroad @onyxicca Here is an article talking about it. The surveys always are worked as. “Have you played any game of any type” its an issue of definitions. gameluster.com/are-51-of-game…
English

@keeperoftheroad @noln87 @onyxicca What truth? Post your studies. I just did 1 Google search and came across 3 sites that have 3 different studies that reinforce what I'm saying. You misogynistic fucks just make shit up and then talk about facts. Losers all of you
English

@Ashe1133158 @keeperoftheroad @onyxicca Junk data in, junk data out. My wife is a “gamer” because she plays candy crush. No person doing market research for a new mmoprg would want to consider her a target audience.
English

@keeperoftheroad @onyxicca you mean the statistic that women gamers account for almost 50% of gamers?
English

@CreativeNotEvil @ItbFluffy @onyxicca You mean the old sexiest ads that had girls with their tits out?

English

@ItbFluffy @onyxicca Made for men and sold to men, yep! That’s why gaming console commercials back in the 80s never featured women in them talking about what they wanted in a console. Nup. Never happened.
English

@ItbFluffy @onyxicca Women have been gaming just as long as men
