Trevor Story didn’t walk back anything he said yesterday. Seems like he explained how he felt. Breslow obviously feels different. But they’re both ready to move forward. Everything is raw. Story won’t sour. Just give it time. The power of communication.

@noons2004 @DanBFox1287 All good from 2002 till about 2011. Force Big Papi to year to year contracts his last 5 years. Low ball Lester, 4 GMs. Bobby Valentine…. Build the best team ever and squander it by 2021. Trade Mookie for Connor Wong, lowball Xander, Trade Raffy for a bag of chips.

Imo, the pattern of backstabbing and the lack of accountability and interpersonal skills throughout the organization is a much more valid reason to want John Henry to sell the team than “he doesn’t spend enough money”

If people think the dysfunction and back-stabbing started in 2019, I would recommend reading Terry Franconas biography

@jimsoxfan worked thirty years at a daily 🗞️ in the circulation department...in charge of youth carriers (9-15) and occasionally I had to let go (fire) a carrier for various reasons...it wasn't easy but I always did it face to face...with a kid...no respect anymore for the current RS owner

Alex Cora clearly no longer wanted to be the manager of the Boston Red Sox. "You're happy? Good, than they were right to fire your ass. You are part of the problem, not the solution." @ZoandBertrand

@jimsoxfan I worked for a daily newspaper for thirty years (1978-2008) in charge on hundreds of youth carriers (ages 9-15) and occasionally I had to fire a kid...and I had the decency to do it face to face...sometimes a lot of tears but I did it...and then there's the Red Sox owner lol

Putting aside the fact that the Red Sox had six of the worst at-bats you’ll ever see in the two games against Mason Miller, the Driveline guys aren’t the manager. We have to stop using Driveline like it’s some taboo word. Just say you don’t like analytics

I don’t know what’s going on at @RedSox Spring Training but I’ve seen things I’ve never seen before. I can’t help but believe that @DrivelineBB and @drivelinekyle have something to do with this. At some point they need to work on actual baseball stuff right? #shegone @notgaetti @BobFile @twuench @billdubs @SliderDominate @VictorRojas @BLocsports @WesClements22 @LouMerloni @DinardoLenny @DMEASrecruiting @TheRealJHair @GreggOlson30

The Red Sox are certainly a disaster of an organization, but Alex Cora’s response to all of it (the comments, the picture, the tweets) just makes him come off smug and arrogant. He may feel as though he was wronged, but he has not managed this team well.
Tyler Milliken@tylermilliken_

“Just before 4 a.m., Cora sent a “reply all” to Kennedy’s initial email to every single member of the Red Sox organization announcing the changes. Cora thanked the organization for the support” “The Cora’s will be OK,” he said with a winking face emoji.” - via @ChrisCotillo

@JimDuquetteGM @JPignatiello here's the thing....total mishandled is an understatement...I worked for a daily afternoon newspaper for thirty years...I was in charge of the youth carriers (mostly 9-15) and occasionally I had to fire a young news carrier ...and I did it face to face..just sayin

This has been mishandled from the very beginning , including if he was on the chopping block this early in the season, then why even bring back to start the year? It’s like pulling the plug on a 26.2 mile marathon at the 4th mile

NEW details on Alex Cora's firing include a Friday postgame team meeting meant to right the ship while the team booked the private jet that would take the coaches home the next day, plus Cora sending a 4 am email to the entire Red Sox org last night: masslive.com/redsox/2026/04…

The @RedSox have a long history of General Managers mistreating players and coaches. It started with Dan Duguette and continues with Craig Breslow. Following his trade from the Boston Red Sox in July 2000, infielder Jeff Frye heavily criticized General Manager Dan Duquette, telling the Boston Globe that Duquette was "the most disliked man in baseball". Frye blasted the GM’s handling of players and general demeanor, marking a bitter end to his tenure in Boston.   Frye was traded to the Colorado Rockies along with Brian Rose and others, a move that prompted his harsh parting words. According to reports, Frye didn't hold back, stating that Duquette "has no personality" and that players felt mistreated under his leadership. #shegone @notgaetti @BobFile @twuench @billdubs @iamrags @artofhitting @hittingguru7 @slider_sinker @SliderDom @low_and_outside @TheRealJHair @DMEASrecruiting @VandyonTigers @mikepiazza31 @SalMarinello @AMBS_Kernan

I can’t get over how the Sox handled the Varitek situation publicly. Saying you “reassigned” one of the most important players in team history just to save face when you were firing him too is a joke. Former Sox legends are gonna see that and want nothing to do with these guys.

Make no mistake, Red Sox ownership and management has declared war on the clubhouse. Players were not allowed to ask questions about Alex Cora’s dismissal and the accompanying house cleaning. Garrett Whitlock, according to @timbhealey of The Boston Globe: “Listen, they made it very clear that we get paid to play baseball - and (that) we need to just focus on playing baseball.” Translation: SHUT UP AND PLAY.

If you want to be a silent owner John Henry, then you DON’T DESERVE to be the owner of one of the GREATEST franchise in the world, the Boston Red Sox. Either make it a priority or SELL THE TEAM and move on. Us fans deserve better. Cc @stoolpresidente

Garrett Crochet was shocked like the rest of the Red Sox about Alex Cora's firing. But there was another emotion, too: guilt. “We’ve been playing terrible. Those guys paid the cost of our own crime. That’s the tough part you have to battle internally." masslive.com/redsox/2026/04…
